Re: Bromptons - Not Impressed
I haven't taken my Brompton on a train in ages. I love its portability though as it stops me needing to lock it up. I must admit I have been feeling low on energy and did find the bike heavy taking it around John Lewis (and up to the 3rd floor café) today

Re: Not enough women on the forum
If men are allowed in what is the point in calling it a women's section? Apart from saddles how many other female specific cycling issues can you think of? Perceived safety when riding alone Frame fit and relative lack of female fit bikes Cycle clothing. Padding in shorts always seems to be male sp...

Re: What makes bikes handle?
Colin's asked this and I agreed with him. What does the OP wish to achieve? I would seem that whatever it is the Croix de Fer hasn't realised it,that's not be a fault of the bike but of the expectations of it IMO. I have almost created 'every bike you ever need' but something that feels far less li...

Re: Gents Bikes with Front Racks Only
Stop worrying what people think. My last post was just a weak attempt at a joke. I thought Andrew Mitchell's bike/basket combo was brilliantly practical.

Re: Not enough women on the forum
Isn't this an issue of cycling promotion and inclusion for women rather than six ism?

How can you say that for sure? I know plenty of younger women who prefer cycling with other women.

Re: Blind Tandeming
Pedal Power in Cardiff have a monthly blind tandem group. I keep meaning to volunteer as a sighted captain. Some bits I found from a quick search. Hope they are of some use http://www.visionaware.org/section.aspx?FolderID=8&SectionID=119&TopicID=493&DocumentID=5867 http://www.lifecycleuk...

Segregated rides? Breeze by British cycling? http://www.goskyride.com/Breeze/Index Beats me why anyone would want to ride segregated. I can only speak for myself but I much prefer rides both a mixture of gender and age. They make for a far more interesting ride. Introduces new female riders to cycl...

I think I have managed 40mph downhill. Someone earlier mentioned terminal speed. I think that term makes me think that I don't want to exceed 40!
