Re: Surly Disc Trucker Front Rack

We do alright for seatpost, even on Mme's tiny Straggler, but it would be getting a frame bag on there that would be the challenge.

Re: Surly Disc Trucker Front Rack

Was that with a load, HC? We must be lazy or rubbish in our house... I trashed a front roller when it fell off my tara into my wheel, and the other day, Mme trashed one when it fell off her rear rack on the Straggler (ok, that was down to a loose strap catching and tangling). Didn't warp the disc it...

Re: What do you think of "big" foldable tour bike?

Looks good, but... A disc trucker with non disc forks?

Makes S&S couplers seem superfluous though.

Re: Head Tube Badge Quiz

17/20, but one I got right (Moots) was a guess as the pic didn't load, while I'd ignored it earlier and got Van Nicholas wrong, guessing that as Moots.

Re: Spa Cycles (Harrogate)

My tyres (as was the order) turned up promptly, that day... Shame I wasn't in, and only collected yesterday, and liking them. Big Bens for £15, nice price, nice riding. :D

Re: Spa Cycles (Harrogate)

Your order has now been dispatched*. *Please note that orders sent Royal Mail are physically taken to the post office in batches and there may be a short delay before your order is dispatched. Curious wording. Or should I say, utterly contradictory? So not despatched then? Especially as this email ...

Re: Asus T100: Good value tablet for touring

I use basecamp on my Dell Venue 8 (8.1 at mo), with a bluetooth mouse. Works well. Have a Bluetooth keyboard too, but carry that less. The t100 is a good format though, and if they put a battery in the keyboard like my old Android version of the transformer, it would be better. Some have hard discs ...

Re: What do you think of "big" foldable tour bike?

there's quite a good discussion about moultons here http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=76811 A bit like marmite I guess.... For touring with a folding/separable bike you need to discriminate between trips where the folding is a regular occurrence and those where it is just once or twic...

Interesting bike in there, with what looks like loaded luggage too!

Re: What do you think of "big" foldable tour bike?

Since this thread was begun, there is another large-wheel folder on the market - the Helix . To me, the folded package looks more manageable on public transport than most 20" folders - I think at a push you could hold it on your knees on a bus - it is only 9.5" x 23" x 26", comp...

Re: Surly Disc Trucker Front Rack

Ha, think so. :? ( ). Set up Mme's Straggler exactly the same way as shown last year. Had previously put on my Vaya using the front holes on fork IIRC, but realised it blocked everything. Luckily on the Straggler it's level, but on my Vaya, not so great, but prob cos I was using some mounts I...

Re: Surly Disc Trucker Front Rack

Hi HC, I am curious how you had it before, is Ian's fit the standard method? Or did you have it attached to the mount forward of the axle?

Re: Windows 10 - Can I relax now?

All I can see in the advanced start up mode is 'start up repair' to fix start up faults, not a self-repair for other issues, but that was from an advanced start up selected from settings, update, recovery.

Ah well, better stop procrastinating, time to get back to painting. Ugh.

Re: Windows 10 - Can I relax now?

A new question on the topic, I think: since using headphones yesterday, today my pc tells me I have no internal speakers nor do the headphones work! All has been well since the upgrade installed about a week ago. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Apparently the Dell Audio by IDT for spea...

Re: Windows 10 - Can I relax now?

Think I must be the only person who ended up getting on with 8.1, preferring it to 7, and having gone over to 10 on tablet and laptop, put tablet back to 8.1, and tried to with laptop. Sadly messed up the lappy, so that's back on 10, but with classic shell start menu, using classic style- kinda prop...
