London based lawyer!

So instead, those Northern based voters chose an old Etonian classicist.

Loath him or loath him, Johnson knows how to communicate with people across social divides. I’m fully aware that he’ll be screwing over the working class and lining the pockets of the privileged. If Labour want to beat him they will need a leader with similar communication skills.

Re: Any other motorcyclists here?

I’ve owned quite a few Jap bikes. More interestingly, a 750 Norton Commando and a 675 Triumph Daytona that I raced on in 2009 ( and that won a BSB Superstock race when I lent it to the original owner in the same year ). Currently have a Harley Road King that only does a quarter of my cycling annual mileage.

Seeds set before pregnancy I believe. So can't place this on the little woman's hormones. I'm sure you weren't being that chauvinistic but I'll point out the pov that any major issue involving a woman gets the hormone tag. Never for men despite us having hormones and variations in them through life.

Before you come back on me I know you didn't actually say hormones and probably didn't mean it that way but often post natal depression is used as code in the same way women get dismissed by "it's the hormones" or "it's the time of the month".

I'm pointing this out because it's not necessarily down to her. PH was majorly affected by Diana's issues with the media and royals. Diana, before her death, was very positive about her projects post royal status. They sound exactly the sort of projects these two want to do. It simply could be prince harry wanting his freedom to do his own thing with his family, immediate family that is.

Fair enough. My comment was based on a BBC article that stated that Megan herself commented that very few ask her how she’s doing post pregnancy. This seemed to hint that she was having problems.

Re: The next Labour Leader

What do the collective think of Jess Phillips? From the perspective of re-gaining the lost Labour voters, I think she may be a good choice. Despite being remain, I think she could communicate well with the northern leave areas that have abandoned Labour. Sadly, I suspect that the party membership won’t back her in sufficient numbers though.

He is my fave Labour guy, so IMO very sad and concerning to see him step down :(

Yes it’s a real shame, he was one of the last hopes for the moderates in the party I think. The Momentum extremists seem very intolerant of any other shade of opinion ( just like all true believers ).

Re: CTC Tours LEJoG Sept 2020

I’ve done this before and would certainly recommend it. There may be flatter routes, but I’d imagine that they would miss a lot of the stunning scenery that you enjoy every day with this tour. While 65 miles per day with hills may seem daunting, you are never further than 20 miles from a cup of tea and cake. As for the cost, this was a once in a lifetime bucket list tour for me, so worth the expense for reasonable hotels and food.

Re: Pictures of your bike(s)

Here’s the latest steed. A £50 eBay special that is the cheapest bike I’ve ever bought by a long way. A 1980 Viscount Metro 3 that is in amazing condition for the year. SA 3 speed and 26” / 650A wheels. It also came with Woods valves on the inner tubes, something that I’m sticking with despite non of my track pumps fitting them ( behold it’s vintage purity! ). It’s bought as a town / shopping bike and I absolutely love it.
PS the dyno lights even work :-)
