With this tread being "asleep" for some months its awakening must be a sign of spring!
Remembering Easter Tours to hostels with DA members or school friends in the 1950s. We had fun with few restrictions, we encountered a range of people in hostels - this is how we learned who to trust and who to be weary of. Unfortunately modern traffic conditions preclude many of the roads we used at the time. Most of the hostels we used have long gone. All in all I look back and think that we did in fact, as said by a PM at that time, "never had it so good". I fear it will never be as good again.
Let's look back and think how fortunate we were when we belonged to a club (CTC) that was for its members benefit not a "do gooders" charity, and an Association (YHA) that operated very much on a mutual basis of help between hostelers and wardens.

When is the general membership going to be told?
This morning I met with six other members of the CTC. All active and well informed cyclists, none of them was aware of the decision of the Charity Commissioners regarding the application for the CTC to become a charity. When are the general membership going to be informed? Why is it being kept so quiet?
