I thought you might be excited by the LHT.
I looked at one, once, and I'm 6foot1 with an inside leg of 33" and the 60cm was good. So I'd have thought that it would be OK for you.
Check on the colours/spec. I think the black ones are a year earlier than the white and there were minor differences in the spec.
At the very least, these things seem to go for very excitable prices, even second hand, on ebay, so you are not going to loose out at this new price.

Re: Flanders
Hello again. I'm not sure where this info came from, but the weather isn't extreme at all. Naturally it's wetter than normal for June
and it's rained over the past week, but nothing serious - currently it's dry on the roads, overcast and 21 degrees.I happened to be in the UK last week too, and it was worse there
You have nothing at all to worry about.

Re: Frame Resprayer recommendation South East London ?
+1 for colourtech.
He did Robert's frames and mine recently. I gave him a colour to match which he did precisely. The price was ok, finish excellent (Robert's decals are painted, not stickers) and it took a couple of weeks. Highly recommended and when/if I ever need this sort of thing doing again, it will be an automatic visit.

Re: Canti brakes + dynamo front light
As ever, a great response. Thanks to all.
* freiston - where did you buy the piece in the second photo? That really does look ideal.
* beady - The SJS piece does look OK but the "down bit" isn't very long. My cable runs down the head tube, about 2cm parallel to it, so I think it would still touch.
* I could get my hammer out and start to bend the arm on the B+M dynamo. It's only a few quid if I make a mess of it, for another one!
Thanks again

Canit brakes + dynamo front light
Hello.
My Hewitt Cheviot SE has canti brakes, so the upside down V shaped wire connecting the arms together is irritatingly sitting where the dyamno arm would like to be, when it's attached to the mudguard screw at the top of the forks. ggrrhh. https://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/b-- ... aid:709237
I am pondering two solutions.
(1) I have a Tubus Tara front rack, so I could fix it to the top of the loop, making it right out at the front of the bike - any suggestions on the best way of doing this. I have seen it done on a Robert tourer, so I know it's possible
or
(2) Could I change to V-brakes? Like this - https://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/shi ... aid:515895
I have Shimano Tiagra STIs. Is there a compatibility issue? Would the clearance be OK then?
Thoughts?
Any other solutions?
Thanks a lot.

Re: A good powder coating firm for a frame?
I've just had my Roberts repainted here - (prices are on his website)
http://www.colour-tech.co.uk/
He will do any design/colour - which is a nightmare). I spent about two months thinking about what to do and I'm normally a decisive person
In the end, I spent a long time looking at new cars, finding a nice colour, I then went to the garage and took apart the leaflet, posting Colour Tech the page (the garage thought I was a wierdo). It came back spot on and lovely!
He did all the Roberts frames and back in the day some Condor and Thorn. Bob Jackson does resprays I think. I'm sure others will be along shortly, with more options. There was a thread recently about a respray in green... look it up and make sure you are not disappointed.....

Re: Factory or LBS wheels - 32 or 36 spokes?
Just a note to thank everyone for their input. Fasinating stuff.... which isn't too surprising, on here. You lot have taught me LOADS over the years and I do really apprecite it..... as well as cheering me up when I needed it. The thing which stuck was that it's not just assembly, it really is a complex skill, to put a decent set of wheels together. I didn't appreciate this.
I'm speaking to Hewitt and Spa now on my new choice of rim, having "persuaded" the wife that a new set is NEEDED (opposed to wanted
). I'm sure in the coming few weeks, I'll pay for this generousity in other ways....she has a love of wine.... and also takes part in Forums....
So, until the next time I stuck.... thanks again.
