Hey everyone - many thanks for your comments and points of view - one of the reasons for this set up was to be able to take more 'stuff' myself so that my wife can travel lighter (brownie points forever). Already having a carbon frame bike saves on investing in a touring bike! Having just completed Paris to Istanbul we're planning ahead for our next tour! We left our old touring bikes in Istanbul! Plenty of ideas from your different perspectives have really helped!

I'm thinking of a tour using my road bike which has a carbon frame ( to keep weight down on plane) and towing a BOB trailer - anyone done this before?

Has anyone ridden EV6 East to West? I'm working in Libya (!) and will finish in June and will head to London the hard way from Istanbul. I would appreciate any comments regarding the E-W route.
