I reckon it shows that the program does not hate bikes as some claim. After all they let the cycle win by not including a motorbike which can go just about about anywhere a cycle can.

mmm slightly amazed at the paranoid view of Halfords on this forum. Last time I bought bike stuff from them was about 20 years ago from our old fashioned high street store. They had b17 saddles for 3.99 I bought all 4 they had in stock. Last cycling connection I had was a couple of weeks ago went in...

Robin Thorn must curse his surname. Mind you, it's better than "Specialized". It'd be a little better if they learnt to spell.... And at least Robin is lucky he doesn't share the surname of former jockey Malcolm B4stard. Can remember when he rode - commentators had numerous ways of pronou...

Re: Is our debate so heated because it's underinformed?

And it's kind of alarming when reports start abbreviating killed and seriously injured to KSI - and then talks about KSI's this and KSI's that. If I'm run over by a car I don't want to be a KSI I want to be acknowledged as a dead person . It's just as old Joe Stalin said "A single death is a t...

Okay so it was a bit naughty but the lady in question was fully clothed. What surprised me - the picture was of an old promotional poster for a traditional looking racing bicycle - was that the bike was fitted with Look pedals. I was just trying to add a bit of humour to the site, wondering how com...

You can buy oil nipples from engineering suppliers. THey are usually threaded maybe something like 1/8" BSP. The hub body should be thick enough for you to drill and tap a hole to take one.

Sort of lateral thinking but pda batteries, often with higher capacity than the original, are available for £4 - £5 on ebay. Why not just buy a couple of spare batteries?

Best brand names for cycle products...

Best name of all has to be Stronglight - have used several of their products and yes they are strong and light.

Wonder why a very French company chose an English name though.....

ok ok ok ok I stand corrected! Any, to correct just a little of what's been written. You CAN bump-start a car with a totally flat battery. There is residual magnetism in the alternator to make it produce electricity by itself, though you do need the battery in circuit. I do so love being called a l...
