Re: Vanishing Topics?

OMG. If the *internet* is inconsistent, we may as well give up now. Civilisation is foobared - let alone accurate CUK forum debate :( Well the whole point of Wiki is that it can be edited by anyone. All MM has to do is edit the article to show that a different viewpoint exists and provide his refer...

Re: Helmet Intercom

There's lots of this sort of stuff produced for motorcyclist/pillion communication. Have a look at something like https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/
or do a search on ebay.

Re: Vanishing Topics?

Scenario 1 - a radio 4 current affairs programme interviews an expert on a certain topic. Months later a poster commented on the general comments made in said interview by the expert. It disagrees with someone's political views so they make demands that evidence is provided backing up the experts i...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Ah bit you you also overlook the UK's other avowed interests in a deal with Trump's America. There will be aspects of that that will negatively impact on the EU and they will not sign up for that without some redress. Then there's tax legislation. If the UK goes along the route of offshore tax have...

Nor were you. In 2018 we had a £66 billion trade deficit with Europe. The security stuff and the military spending shortfall is a matter of recent record and various press reports. They need us more than we need them... Debunked? I dont think so. Al I don't think you understand the figures. About 1...

Re: The next Labour Leader

Why do you think discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, race and religion is unfair but not so on the basis of nationality or perceived wealth ? Because the risk posed by nationals from one nation may be perceived to be different to the risk from nationals from another nation. Because nationals ...

Re: The next Labour Leader

How do they decide on the criteria? I don't know. I do know that discrimination between nationals from one nation and another does happen and will presumably continue. I can't see a way round that. By not discriminating I meant, of course, on grounds of ethnicity, race and religion. "Unfair di...

Re: The next Labour Leader

We already discriminate between nationals from different countries. How we do that in the future is up for debate. What we can agree on is that race, religion and ethnicity should have nothing to do with it. Perhaps the relative wealth of nations is what it boils down to. If you come from a wealthy...

Sorry Pete, you are wrong ! Having hands on experience with a Piatti can swear as to their total inadequacy! The Velo was a tub of lard, looking like a Maicomobile, but weighing a half a ton more! In comparison the Brockhouse Corgi the Corgi feels like a Fireblade against the Piatti  :twis...

Re: The next Labour Leader

My point is if we are to treat all from overseas in the same way after Brexit then either the Indian Visa regs will have to apply to people from France or be dropped altogether. If we were to have a non discriminatory policy then entry requirements for nationals of all countries would have to be si...

Indeed, and that’s exactly why trespassing on land with an intent to reside there should be a crime

Residing isn't a crime though.

I don't think wanting more controlled immigration is right wing if it is applied equally to applicants, without regard to skin colour, religion or stuff like that. With regard to the armed forces ...

Al-yrpal enjoyed years of being able to freely trade and work throughout the EU. Tarif free import and export. Now he's drawing his pension, no doubt boosted by the making of money at that earlier time, he wants to leave. And deny that easy opportunity to the next generation. I think it's hypocriti...
