Re: Drivers must have been ecstatic at my place of work yesterday...
But they all enjoy driving, you on the other hand, have to endure the hardship of cycling, saving for a car are you?

Re: Do shimano sti shift levers work with DX cranksets?
Thanks to all for the replies. Apologies also, conveying what I can physically see, to what you can "see" from my post is often vastly different, especially when I fail to describe in any detail :( . The inner chainring (30T) scraped the paint off the chainstay. At that point I was so glad...

Re: Do shimano sti shift levers work with DX cranksets?
Thank you for that Norman
I did wonder about a square taper, I was looking at this from Spa: http://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s109p3/S ... act-Triple,
this requires a Stronglight JP400 110mm bottom bracket, so perhaps that will fit?

Re: Do shimano sti shift levers work with DX cranksets?
I can assure you the Tiagra 4703 triple will NOT fit. I've had to patch up the chipped paint on the chainstay! :x Again, Genesis say a 48-36-26 will just fit. :( Okay, perhaps I'm doing it all wrong, but this is my first bike build, I want to at least build most of it myself, so if I do have a probl...

Do shimano sti shift levers work with DX cranksets?
Originally I was looking at a Specialised AWOL frame to build up as a tourer, with the aim of a LEJOGLE, (solo camping, taking around 25-30 days). After a bit of research I decided on a Tiagra 4700 (10 speed) set up (50-39-30 on the front with an 11-32 cassette and medium cage rear dérailleur). All ...

Re: if the Alpkit Love Mud Juice hub dynamo is any good?
Resurrecting this thread, anyone have any info/views on this dynamo? I see at the moment that they are out of stock on the Alpkit website, but I am a fan of Alpkit equipment (although I have not tried the cycle kit), I have a down jacket and sleeping bag from them and both are good. I'm looking for ...

Re: Abuse from motorists
I recently had an incident with a driver who decided to overtake me, with a car approaching (so all three of us were "together"), in excess of the signed speed limit. This was just seconds after I had been close passed by another van, I suspect the two vehicles were together, so basically ...

Re: From Bishops Lydeard to Barnstaple
Personally, having ridden across Exmoor (Raleighs Cross, Wheddon Cross, Exford, Simonsbath, Blackmoor Gate and then to Barnstaple) and the B3227 (which was the main road to North Devon from Taunton before the Link Road off the M5 was built- ) in both directions, I'd take the B3227 every time! I like...

Re: The rights of motorists
Last winter I came across a car up on a grass bank with the barbed wire fence across the top of the bonnet (almost touching the windscreen), I stopped and asked the driver if he was okay and if he needed help. He said yes and by (me) pushing the car and lifting the barbed wire he was able to reverse...

Re: Janet Street Porter
What a sad argument from someone who was President of the Ramblers Association, how come she didn't acknowledge that more bikes = cleaner air, more bikes = less noise, more bikes = less congestion. I thought Andrew Gilligan did very well, attempting to answer hysterical arguments in a reasoned manne...

Re: Obstructing a bridlepath - with a new building !
When we sold our house the people buying it were having an awful time selling theirs. It appeared that when the builders applied (and got) permission to move the footpath around the garage of their house, the solicitor forgot to register it. The buyers solicitor picked up that anyone could ask to be...

I can get on to the site, but unable to mark any routes. Have to look for a new site, any recommendations?

Bike Route Toaster down again?
Not been on the site for a few months as I've not been able to ride following surgery, but went on to work out a route and it would not let me do anything (still able to pull up old routes). I'm on Windows 10 and not sure if I've been on the site since upgrading. I know most of my routes backwards, ...
