Re: HELP ! ! Bindweed
I've used the gel (and thick gloves to apply it - it took me 2 summers but my garden's now bindweed free :) Nettles are currently my biggest problem, but apparently they're a sign of healthy soil and I'm cooking with them (nettle tea is actually quite nice) so it's nice to be drinking a refreshing b...

Hey - don't pass up an opportunity! If your lycra clad botty's getting that much attention then why not rent out advertising space on it? And if it's as large as you say it is you'll be riding a carbon/ultegra clad bike before you know it!

Re: Quality Bike Shop/Service
Personally, if I was heading out on a trek where the maintainability of the bike was kinda paramount I'd learn to service the thing myself. All of it. I'd certainly ask around and I'm sure there's plenty of people in London who'd give up a few hours to teach fettling if you don't have the time. Othe...

Re: £50,000 prize for anti bike theft device
Because a lot of stolen stuff is rapidly removed from the country and sold in remote places? Errm - no more exotic than your local market stall or Gumtree. Everyone* loves a bargain without inquisitive questions. There's no need to have the expense of shipping stuff abroad if there's a ready market...

Re: Any difference in gas cookers? + Recommendations please
With the earlier versions of LWWF meals, there were problems with paper labels or running ink if you tried to use the water you'd boiled the bag in. Have these now been fixed? To be honest I've never noticed. If I'm eating that kind of stuff then I'm miles from anywhere, knackered and hungry. I'd e...

Another +1 for Jetboil stoves and the frying pan. I did love my Trangia, but life's too short to be waiting for it to boil stuff and then there's the cleaning of the thing. And as BeeKeeper said, you can make very tasty meals with a small amount of imagination very quickly. I know some don't like th...

Re: Supermarket Packaging
I buy all my fruit and veg at the market and take my own bags. It's actually nice getting to know market stall traders - and if you 'book ahead' they can get all kinds of stuff like those things those lying TV chefs say are 'available in all good supermarkets'

... Am I the only one who thinks that TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) should have their full form bracketed the first time they are used in order to avoid confusion, otherwise they are in danger of becoming jargon with their meaning only known to a select few. ... I think you're on your own there as e...
