Re: Shimano Bottom Bracket Lifespan
I am astounded that you would get 15 to 20000 miles use as to be honest i expected around 2000 miles. Any particular reason the hollowtech do not last as long as the square taper ones as the bike industry were saying what a big improvement the hollowtech ones were over the square taper design, what is the difference in them that would make one last longer than the other and what do you guys and girls recomend between the two?

Shimano Bottom Bracket Lifespan
Posting on behalf of a friend who is looking to upgrade from her current yst bottom bracket on her racing bike. How long in miles would you expect to get out of a shimano UN 55 square taper, or shimano XT-SLX BB70 hollowtech 2, and are the bearings replaceable on these two bottom brackets. Thank you in advance.

no nonsense heavy duty degreaser from screwfix
Have any ctc members used this and if so what is it like? I normally use the halfords citrus degreaser which is very good but it costs £10 a litre, whereas the screwfix one only costs £7 for 5 litres. I just want to use it in a chain bath and for cleaning the sprockets and jockey wheels. Thank you in advance members for any advice given.

Re: v brake tension spring
Great to see that some bikes get recycled for africa as they are an essential form of transport there, and it really warms the cockles of my heart to hear this.

Re: v brake tension spring
I went down to the local recycling centre to look for a tensioning spring and it is such a shame some of the stuff that is thrown away, bikes with good saddles, tyres, gears, wheels, drivetrain, etc, i bet that these could be put to good use in third world countries.

tf 2 dry wax lubricant with krytox
Has anyone used this stuff and what are your opinions on it? I intend using it for dry use only on a mountain bike.
