Re: Airnimal Bikes?

Thank you, I missed a really nice one on here a few weeks back, people on eBay seem to expect ridiculous money for second hand Chameleons. I’ll wait.

Airnimal Bikes?

I remember they had a pretty poor reputation for frame failures. Does anyone know if they fixed the problem and if so what year?

Re: Mezzo D9 folding bike?

Thankyou. The more recent models have slots in the plate on top of the rack. The bag has plastic 'L' shaped hooks that slot onto the rack. My rack has round tubular normal metal tubing.

Mezzo D9 folding bike?

I've just acquired a used one of these, probably one of the earliest as the frame number is 150. It's in good nick but somewhere down the line they seem to have changed the luggage rack a little and fitted it with a flat plate to fit their luggage bags. The bags are on ebay fairly cheap but probably...

cycle rack for a mini convertible?

Lady friend has been quoted £600 from BMW for a rack to fit one of these cars. Bit of googling and it looks like it could be done with a small universal carrier with ultra short straps hooked over the boot lid. Anyone done it, or does anyone know of a supplier of those really simple racks that came ...

Re: Odd one - stiff bottom bracket - but only in one direction

I thought I had this last week - turned out one of the cartridge bearings had seized in the Campag freehub.

Re: New to tubeless tyres

I'm interested in this also. A couple of lads in our club have started down this route. Apparently it helps to have a special inflator to get that initial blast to get the tyre to seal quickly. You can make one from a coke bottle. Special rim tape seems to be another. You can fit a tube I've heard b...

Re: Does anyone know why helmets vary in price so much?

That's just it you see, everyone looks at the picture and says It wasn't bad. Correct the blood didn't come through the helmet it was from lying in a pool unconcious for nearly five minutes. I was there, I witnessed it first hand, nobody from this forum was there and yet they feel it's their right t...

Re: Does anyone know why helmets vary in price so much?

Which brings us back to why some are more expensive than others - some offer a replacement scheme in the case of an accident. Nothing's free so you're most likely paying towards your replacement helmet anyway.

Re: Does anyone know why helmets vary in price so much?

I'll ask him. He's a total idiot mind, I caught him wearing another one only last week. You'd think he'd learn. I suppose if he'd bought an expensive one in the first place at least he'd get it replaced. He could have flogged it on to another unsuspecting twerp then and pocketed the money.

Re: Does anyone know why helmets vary in price so much?

You can't beat a good helmet debate can you? Here's one my mate hit the tarmac with, a cheap Aldi one I believe. Apparently the helmet caused the accident, did not protect his head, was totally useless, he'd have been better off without it or just wearing a buff and he should have learn't to change ...

Re: 2 bikes

The Synapse has a little door under the bottom bracket under which the cables run inside the frame. In winter this becomes rammed with grit and the frame fills with dirty water which seeps into the bearings. I had a CAAD 12 fo a while, dreadful. The creakiest bike I ever owned with a headset that co...

Re: 2 bikes

I have a Synapse, and a BMC granfondo, both good handling bikes. The Cannondale is a dreadful winter bike with a poorly designed bottom bracket and difficult to fit mudguards to. Hopefully it will be off my hands soon. I've just bought a Specialized Diverge with full mudguards. I can honestly say I ...

Where to buy small Shimano spares?

Just noticed the silver cap on one of my hydraulic shifters has flown off somewhere. Is there anywhere these bits can be sourced?
