Re: Bike Research Advice For Newbie

Hello, I would agree with most of the advice on here, you may have already commited to buying something by now. If you haven't decide the model you want and look for a second hand with little use make sure you get the right size. My current bike is a Revolution by E.B.C. I bought it after reading re...

Re: Choosing a bike - advice needed !

Hello, I would buy something reasonable second hand Trek Alpha 1.2 or similar; get one that has hardly been used and is the right size. Use it for a year and then sell it and buy your £1500 / £2000 bike. You see Trek Alpha's all the time on ebay for around £350 and they are an excellent way to get i...

Re: ...a budget road bike

I would be tempted with a second hand bike from a good maker which has had little use. I saw two Trek 1.2's go on EBAY for under your budget. Both had done less than 100 miles.

Aero rims

My son has Mavic CXP 14 aero rims, is there an easy way to fit and remove tyres? I seem to have to be very brutal in order to do this.

Thank you for all the help, the probem was the tension on the cable, I have released it slightly and it seems alright.

Changing down front mech.

I have just acquired a revolution road bike with shimano sora group set; I am finding when changing from the large chain ring to the small one the small shifter button requires a lot of pressure. Any ideas how to cure this; it is a double chain wheel.

Re: Advice on new Bike

Hello,
I would avoid budget bikes with disc brakes, the brake systems are relatively expensive and difficult to maintain for DIYers.
