Re: artificial sweeteners; are they poison?

It could have been something completely unrelated to the cycling or the drink. May even have been Covid.

Re: Four year old killed by bike helmet.

Those clips on helmet straps are of a design used in many places. Even our doggie's collar has them and I have a trouser belt with one. The harder you pull the harder they are to open. There is no "emergency release" for them either. With research, I could find the name of these clips. Ma...

Re: Advice on Helmets prices vs quality ????

I will say just one thing about the helmet debate. It is not a given that helmets are worth bothering about. https://www.cyclehelmets.org/ has discussion about why they might not be as beneficial as many people think https://helmets.org/stats.htm has information in support of helmet use If the OP w...

Re: big but cumfy

Suggest you measure the frame, looking at the photo it doesn’t look big enough to be a 59 cm. Measure from centre of the bottom bracket to top of the seat tube, then sit on the seat with pedal on one side fully down put your heel on the pedal, there should be the slightest of bend in your leg.

Re: Best electrolyte tablets?

The rehydration sachets from most chemists are very good. You should be very careful not to add too much, it can have an affect on your blood pressure. In most circumstances you get enough salt from your diet.

Damaged adjuster screw on shimano rear derailleur

I have a 10 speed shimano rear derailleur which has a damaged lower limit screw, I didn’t do this, but assume it was seized and was damaged by the previous owner trying to adjust it. I doubt there is enough to grip it with pliers. It means the lowest gear can’t be used, could I remove the spacer and...

Re: Yet another 1x road bike... this time by B'Twin

It’s a bargain, you could pick up a set of sora or tiagra 9 speed levers and a nine speed cassette and chain, keep the single ring it would be a great cheap bike. Or look online loads of decathlon road bikes second hand very cheap. I bought a triban 540 hardly used 105 11 speed group set and Aksum w...

Re: Headset bearing trouble

I have a Dolan Preffisio and changed the bearings about 3 years ago. I complained to Dolan because the bike had not done much mileage. They sent me a complete headset at cost price. Suggest you contact them. I do remember the original bearings had plastic outer cups I asked for metal ones which is w...
