10% off st Springfields at the moment (bushcraft/camping)

No affiliation or link with this business , except I have shopped there. Not sure for how long (possibly just days?) , they have 10% off. Not a huge saving but much of their camping things are reasonably cheap anyway, and it's better than giving your money to Amazon who never pay their tax. I can hi...

Updated 25 years ago with 700c wheels from Ribble, 6 speed rear hub and new brake levers. Otherwise original Shimano 600 front and rear mech; Shimano centrepulls; SR stem, seat post ...

Re: Aldi July 2020 offers - chair and sleeping bag

I bought the lightweight chair last time it was on their 'specials', and was really pleased with weight and comfort , but unfortunately a leg buckled...I'm only 11st , so don't think It was an unreasonable amount of weigh to expect it to carry. tip - that was slightly un-even ground in a field. I a...

Re: Ooooh, I had not seen this: Luxe Minipeak II and Minipeak XL

got the Minipeak II a few years back, very simple tent, quite light. Not been in strong winds or really tough conditions, and don't think I'd like to be but it's always done well for me.

Re: How much YOU have spent This year on Bike related stuff?

Over the last year, maybe £15. A tube, 2 bells, 4 brakes blocks and some repair glue.

I have a few bikes but never bought one new since 1982.

I buy almost everything second hand if I can.

Re: It is earnestly to be hoped - we love the Guardian!

Why is ML better than the G? The Guardian are funded from advertising from big companies (who invariably have political agendas) and hence I feel they are compromised on their editorial. Media Lens are independent and get what funding they need from individual small contributions. In short, they do...

Re: It is earnestly to be hoped - we love the Guardian!

While the on-line version still has some good articles, the Guardian has become a shadow of it's former self, and has pretty much prostituted itself to large corporations for a few years now. Their love for Hilary Clinton and her war mongering ways really was the final straw for me and I will never...

Re: Best (light) 1 man tent

+1 on the Luxe. I have the Mini Peak II. But the one above in this thread is an even better one. Pretty light, well made, pitch the outer first and a sturdy tent in wind.
