Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Nice acquisition - a superb bike, I think you'll be pleased with the ride. The colour is very 1980's!

As the poster above mentions, we do have a dedicated forum for Lambert and Viscount bikes - lots of info, history, tips , knowledge and nice folks over there.

Re: Clothing

As another member above says, TKMaxx is a place to find bargains. I picked up a very light weight down jacket a year or so back, and it can be packed down very small. I have used it when hiking and longer camping trips. It really does the job, and cost just under £30. I have also had merino stuff fr...

Re: Wiggle reviews

This is pretty disappointing to hear...It seems really quite an own goal too,now that people know. Bearing in mind the criticisms are very likely to be about the product and not the service, it doesn't seem to make huge sense either. After all, Wiggle don't manufacture the items they sell. I have bo...

Re: Can I have some opinions for a friend?

There's a Luxe Mini Peak II on ebay at the moment - second hand they should sell £60-£80 I guess? They are light(ish) and can use a walking pole in place of tent pole - thereby saving some weight , if she was already carrying a walking pole.

Re: Has Anyone Toured With a Guitar?

A car boot, pocket money Ukulele might be more practical? And if you play guitar, you should adapt within about 10 mins

I find the uke can go from 'London Calling' to 'Ain't she Sweet' without too much problem - versatile and light.

Re: Camping in Norway (Luxe Mini Peak inner question)

The inner only has a zip on one side which is the inside side of the tent. If you fitted two standard inners both would open up onto each other and you would not have access to the outer doors. As the tent is sort of equilateral triangle and the inners are right angled triangles I don't think they ...

Camping in Norway (Luxe Mini Peak inner question)

Booked flights for Bergen in early August and getting that excited feeling when you are planning for a trip. We might use the DNT huts or camp in tent. If we camp we are trying to keep the weight down and take just one tent, and I just wanted to ask a quick question to anyone who has a Luxe Mini Pea...

Re: the Janapar Grant - for adventurous young cyclists

This is the kind of fund I would set up if I came into a large sum of money. Great stuff.

I'm just a little too old to apply though....

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

I looked at your Indy 500 in the gallery in that forum. That's very like my wife's, which I mentioned a couple of years ago in this thread - same colour and everything. We swapped the derailleur for a long-arm one, put on a 14-32 freewheel and a rack, and took it touring for a while. As I said, it'...

Bike packing and campervan.

A reasonably priced VW camper van (T25/Transporter) would hold its price. I guess you could buy one now and sell it for same price at end of summer.
I've looked at hire prices and they are very expensive.
