Re: ITV4 Cycling Show

I'm pretty much on the same lines as both of you. I think that people fixing up their old faithful bike and nipping off for a ride into the countryside for an hour or so, maybe stopping to load a loaf and bottle of milk into the panniers would be a superb show. They could review the latest budget cy...

Re: Marks and Spencer cycling chinos

How is the length with them - do you need to go one size longer for bike use? The turn up will take 1" off the length. I bought the 31" inside leg and they are a touch longer than I would wear them off a bike when down; but on bike they are fine. Although I might have been better going fo...

Re: Marks and Spencer cycling chinos

Heads up on these...in sale and down to £18. Lots of sizes left. I bought a pair earlier this week and think they are great for £18. They have reflective strips on back pocket and bottom of trouser leg. Both can be hidden if you just want to wear as a 'regular' trouser. Comfy and smart. And a push s...

Re: Rapha Archive Store - Shepton Mallet

Many years ago when I worked in a small chain of menswear shops, the rule of thumb was 120% mark up on cost price.
Not a useful comparison to Rapha I know, but just thought I'd throw it in here.

Re: Do you guys think this is a fair price?

How about contacting buyer with a lower offer?

If it doesn't sell at that, they will no doubt cut the price at some point anyway?

Re: Derailleur cage length.

The specs. for the mech. will probably give "total capacity"....ie difference between biggest and smallest rings and sprockets added up....which you can often exceed, if you don't use big/big, small/small When I was trying to work this out, people pointed me to Velobase and Disraeli Gears...

Re: When it's too chilly for shorts.....!

I found a used pair of Rapha stretchy trousers on eBay , only £20. They are just the job. The material gives just enough and they are so comfy I wear them as a general pair of trousers now, not just on the bike. They are a sandy colour. Marks and Spencers do something similar, but I haven't tried th...

Re: Emigration

Now that we have this govt in power again I am considering leaving. I would like to live in a country where the poor have a wage they can at least feed themselves on. The old will be able to afford to be looked after with dignity and respect when they need it. The sick will have proper health care ...

Faster! I'm loving your before and after pictures. Great work! I always love a background story to a bike too. Here's a link to some decals that are a 'must have' for any Viscount owner http://www.redbubble.com/people/nanseikan/works/14614493-death-fork-blade-decals?p=sticker&SSAID=389818&ut...
