Re: What's your favourite ride?

I like cycling locally around places that I knew as a kid, with a friend I've known since I was 4 or 5, doing about 20-30 miles- generally stopping off at a pub.
Second choice is to cycle alone

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

little update on Lambert project #1; stripping the paint and getting it ready for paint a week from today! I'm excited but I hate using paint stripper when I use to have access to a blasting cabinet.. Thats how I did it before and it took it to bare clean metal in about 30min, now it takes me 30min...

Re: Aldi cycling clothing clearance

Here in Burton they did that 2 weeks ago. I bought about 10 pairs of decent short socks for less than £2.20!
Worth having a look.
They were also selling bike stands for 2 bikes

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

I have sent a message the the seller only to find his bottom dollar to be about 75 USD shipped which is in my mind fairly high as I had offered him 55 shipped. I found another listing where the seller is asking 150 shipped.. Can't understand why they're asking so much since both auctions are descri...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Anyone know of a type 3 fork in rideable condition looking for a home? Steerer tube length of 7.5ish.. The only one I've seen is on eBay and the guy wants too much. My lambert goes to paint in about a week and that'll be the only thing that keeps me off the pavement.. :( Mail him and make him an of...

Re: Cycling and Socialism

Google "Socialism can only arrive by bicycle", a quote attributed to Jose Antonio Viera Gallo. I think you'll find that your blog has already been written. Gaz, I checked this out but could only find the quote, not any other extra stuff to back it up. Any ideas if it was a whole theory an...

I'd be interested to see that

Cycling and Socialism

Working on a hypothesis that cycling and it's related activities are inherently socialist (within the broader meaning of the word 'socialist' )

I'd be happy to expand and give you my thoughts but really just interested in your thoughts for a blog article I am going to write.

Cheers

Re: Fill That Hole - Report a Ford?

Highways agency van was parked up the other day. That's a start :D We have a river across our road most of the year round since the farmer turned the back 2 fields over to turf production. With all the large stones taken out and the surface smooth as a snooker table , it just runs straights in to t...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Bustaste- loving your write up on the work so far on the red 'Sport.

That is going to be one heck of a beautiful bike!

Spindle puller is a week too late for me, but sounds superb.
