Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Bustaste- loving your write up on the work so far on the red 'Sport.

That is going to be one heck of a beautiful bike!

Spindle puller is a week too late for me, but sounds superb.

Re: timberland-ireland.com - spoof warning

Audax67 I just checked out those folding Timberland trainers. I like the look of them and started a search for some (as they are on offer at the moment for approx £27) They are pretty neat! But then my mind started to question if they would be a significantly smaller volume when zipped? What do you ...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

If you went out on a limb and bought it but then regretted, then you could sell parts anyway?

Make him a low offer..? What could go wrong

I'm just stating an interest here- if you don't want the wheels, I could prob make use of them on my 'Sport project

Surface liquistretch shorts

Just got a pair of these for £36 with free delivery. If you can get them cheaper you're doing well. Anyway, in a word- great! Exactly what I wanted. Stretchy, wearable at any time, not just on the bike. Well made and comfortable. NB no padding in them though. Check the sizes first on their sizing ch...

Re: local authority flats- people can't get one because successive gov'ts want private companies or private individual to rent out houses/flats. Do these landlords want to invest and build flats? No, they are not in it as a public service, they want to get rich. That is what the free market encourag...

Ah yes, Local Authority housing.......how is that allocated again? "To each according to need....." ..I read somewhere. Over the road from me is a Local Authority 3 bedroom house. In the house live a couple, they are younger than me (I'm 65). Both work, no children have ever lived permane...

Re: Anyone know what makes a free enterprise economy work?

The utilities went out to the 'free market' as did the railways and soon to be the schools and the health service. Are they any better left to compete in the market? Of course not, they are far worse. When people realise that transport, health, education and basic utilities need to be publicly owne...

Re: Anyone know what makes a free enterprise economy work?

Well, it doesn't work does it? It lurches from boom to bust because that is inherent in it's nature. At it's heart is an ideology that believes human nature is fundamentally selfish and greedy. It is based on the value of profit - therefore anything that makes a profit must be 'right' regardless of ...

Anyone here get any Kraftwerk tickets?

They are doing a stint at the turbine hall in Tate Modern and playing a whole album per night.
Tickets went on sale yesterday at 7.30am.
Huge demand and web site crashed, phone engaged all day. Sold out now!
Just wondered if anyone here got any?

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Just couldn't resist posting up another picture! I got out for an hour this afternoon. I had a blast! Came back from town down a fairly steep but small hill, got up plenty of speed down to traffic lights that were on green- (it's a one way road and I had plenty of road space), it turns into a 90degr...

This might be covered in the previous post (too good to lose), but here goes... When I've encountered this problem and others like it before, I've used Plus Gas. Pour some in around the top of the post and leave to work it's way down overnight. If you are not going to use the post again, drill a ho...
