The iphone will run viewranger for 5 or 6 hours left switched on, after that I plug in the usb cable of the new trent charger which I keep in the saddlebag or barbag. With viewranger running left on on bright screen this charger will still bring it back to full charge.

Really is brilliant watching the screen as you go along.. names of streams, old ruins etc.
Another advantage of viewranger is you can just download the os map tiles you need; recently did much of lon las cymru and was able to do exactly that. Its the way to go.

samsung s3 bike mount
Anyone found a good bike mount for the galaxy s3. I'm looking at the porporta beachbuoy and see its discontinued as the phone's too big.. they tell me it may fit with a little adjustment. Up until now I've been using the iphone 4 with the ram ez on bike mount without a problem. Using viewranger on this set up has transformed the cycle touring experience, I highly recommend it. Gone are the days of unfolding tattered os maps. Again ram aren't making a cradle for the s3.. there's load availabe for the iphone 5.
