A11 A12 interchange Stratford

Managed to be decanted on the A11 inbound to North London from Essex and came across what must be one of the riskier bike signs which has cyclists merging with fast traffic going to the Blackwall tunnel exit on the A11 (to join A12) as you take the bridge to stay on the A11. Perhaps I mis read the s...

Re: Hybrid or Road

Is there a thread on average long distance speeds? This seems to be the closest despite the title. Last week did Holyhead to Nottingham in two and a half days. My steel clunker would show a nice 18-20 mph over some sections, but the computer worked out the average at 11.7 mph. The LeJoG record at 41...

Previously was getting some pain in the knees, but this has now gone ...but yesterday have pulled my back ...

Re: Cycling death toll this year

Ideally there is a safety institute out there (government or industry sponsored)? which is helping identify the key risk factors for fatal bicycling accidents and creating awareness around them. Using the airline industry statistic of fatal accidents per 100,000 hours flown might give some context -...

Re: commuting 8 miles to work advice required

Currently based in Dublin and building up training for a 20 mile each way commute (Norh London to Essex) when returning to London - will use my old no sus mtb with mudguards, schwalbe supreme tyres (26x2.00), caradice saddlebag, shimano flat/spd pedals, lights and SM Rolls seat. Top gear (out of 15 ...
