France, a warning.

I got a message last night to the effect that there is a new pastime among the youth of Bordeaux. Two of them on a moped or small motorbike, one of them steers, while the passenger attempts to push cyclists off. So far it's only happening where most tourists wouldn't want to go, but it could spread.

The Romney Hythe and Dymnchurch Railway has one on its 15" track. I have also seen one in Switzerland, on a metre gauge line in Chur, the locals occasionally had time trials where the rialway goes through the streets on it.

If you're going up the coast from Millom to Carlisle, there is a space at the end of the coach for your bike, where exactly depends on which type of train Northern have sent. On Virgin trains the bike space is usually at the Northern end of the train. Ask the station staff at Lancaster or Carlisle o...

I'm a similar weight and height to you, with a Mercian lugless with their standard racing geometry slightly stretched for mudguards. I think oversize top and down tubes are worthwhile.

Mild steel-long white sparks.
As carbon increases sparks become more "bushy" with secondary bursts.

Robbo had a little cat,
It's fur was black with soot,
And everywhere that pussy went,
It's sooty foot it put.

I've been sweeping the chimney, "accompanied".
