Re: downgrading with age.

I try to upgrade with age. The lighter the better. pick up most of my stuff on Troc-Velo. Rode up le Ventoux on my second-hand Time Vxrs last Sunday. Downgrade and so will your brain.

Re: replacing cable inner, front brake, Campagnolo Ergopower lever

I find it simpler and quicker to unwrap the bar tape down to the lever. Then detach the housing from the lever. Easy then to feed the inner cable through the lever and into the housing . Wrap up and job done.

Re: pivot bolt ultegra calipers

thanks Brucey.
I think I looked at that site. a couple of their bolts would cost almost as much as I paid for the chorus calipers! But might give them a ring.
bonne route

pivot bolt ultegra calipers

hi
bought a set of chorus skeleton calipers to put on a second hand frame (Time vxr) only to find the sunken screws were too short. So I used the screws from the ultregras on another bike. I now need to find repacement screws for the ultegras. Any of you folks know of a source?
many thanks

Re: Fancy a tour of the Hebrides in 2013?

Hi all I am planning to go ‘chillax’ touring in the Hebrides next May. I am flexible on dates but thought it might be good to go for about 8-10 days, taking in one or other of the bank holidays. May should be good as it will help to avoid the dreaded midges. The rough plan is to leave the car at Ob...

Re: mixing sprockets and cassettes

If you havnt been up from Bedoin or Malaucene take my advice and put on your 26t. Did you buy a Campag ring or another make? I bought a 26t Stronglight 74 BCD ring from Spa - http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s149p245 - which will also fit Campag (mine's a Shimano triple). Dural ring...

Re: mixing sprockets and cassettes

IIRC, Marchsio sprockets use a very fine spline that fits over an adapter ring, and you use a different adapter ring for different freehub body splines. Some do, some fit straight to the freehub, I have examples of both. To the OP - Miche do sprockets down to 29 for a Campag fit, see this French sh...

Re: mixing sprockets and cassettes

I live in France near to Mont Ventoux. Ooh, you lucky thing  I cycled up it last week taking for the first time the easy route from Sault I'm a few months younger than you, and I rode up from Sault last year on 30x28, which was OK on a light bike, and in perfect weather. As Brucey says, a ...

Re: mixing sprockets and cassettes

you don't say if you have 8, 9 or 10s campagnolo. There are different sprocket mountings within this range. I did find a nice link to images of the different splines.... but I don't remember where just now. [edit; it was here; http://branfordbike.com/articles/cassettes-and-cogs-pg60.htm ] Marchisio...
