Re: The War on Britain's Roads

...just found this... http://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/bbc-helmetcam-doc-to-air-on-5th-december/013940 ...incidently ...I recently took a day off work to cycle 50 miles around West Sussex rural roads for the day ...at a crossing on the busy A259 near Emsworth ...from a cycleway (pavement) to another...

Re: University Project - Product to Improve Cyclist Safety

...I have just completed Sam's survey ...but took issue with the question "...have you ever had an accident ...as the result of cycling?" I have had an accident while cycling ...not as a result of me cycling ...but as the result of a hit-and-run driver hitting me from behind ...throwing me...

Re: Reinventing the bike lock

...I thought it too obvious a suggestion ...do we know why it hasn't caught on for all bicycles?

Who would want to steal an immobilised bicycle ...other than for spare parts?

Re: Reinventing the bike lock

...cannot bicycle manufacturers produce a lock within the bicycle itself ...as with motorcycles and mopeds ...whereby the front wheel is turned to the left to lock using a key ...thus immobilsing the bike into the bargain?

Re: Do you like to tour alone?

I prefer to cycle tour with my wife ...we understand and like each other's style of cycling ...and the routes we enjoy

I also like to cycle in groups ...but they tend to go faster ...which improves my speed and stamina ...but it's not the same ...!

Re: membership

...a very nice man from the CTC ...apologies I didn't catch his name ...has rung me We discussed how the CTC is becoming more 'corporate' ...and more of a 'business' ...and sadly becoming more remote from its membership ...especially with actions like those referred to above He says that the Club's ...

Re: membership

The CTC is my club. You work for me.

The tone of your message is one of an organisation which does not value it’s members and has become detached, authoritarian and bureaucratic.

My wife and I have decided regrettably to leave the CTC

Please do NOT renew our membership

Re: membership

Further to your telephone call yesterday, I can confirm that CTC are no longer able to provide monthly Direct Debit membership types. You currently hold a Monthly Family membership. This is due for renewal on 1.10.2012 and the cost for the annual renewal is £££. The letter you received recently was ...

Re: membership

I received a letter from the CTC yesterday saying my existing method of paying my CTC subs is no longer available. No reason given! I could either contact the Membership Dept or renew my membership on line. I try online and am told: You have no memberships that need payment at this time Notes: 1) If...
