Re: Hatred against Cyclists

I've written to Ch5 to desist from broadcasting on the basis that it breaches the OFCOM code in at least two sections, I've cc'd in the head of OFCOM and also Jeremy Wright the secretary of state for Media, Culture etc etc. What codes does it breach - I've looked and (without having seen the progra...

Re: H&S and Risk assessments

Standard spec apart from the single front chainset machined...

Re: Bikepacking bags versus rack and panniers: illusion or not?

But you might also have noticed that there is a shift in the sort of touring which is being done, and bikes and gear have shifted along. 40 years ago I toured to the med on smooth roads with a 1:1.000.000 Michelin map (4"/day) and 28mm tyres, today I'd rather not encounter cars and use a GPS t...

Re: Bikepacking bags versus rack and panniers: illusion or not?

I believe its a fashion / marketing issue. Lets use high(ish) profile ultra distance cyclists to promote "the new way" of long distance cycle travel, and sell lots of ill fitting bags to cover the frame with.... frame triangle bag in a cross wind anyone ? Look at the covers of Mark Beaumon...

Re: Should we stop using the word 'cyclists'?

I am a Cyclist. I have been a Cyclist for 44 years. Before that i was a cyclist for 12 years. Before that i was a toddler. I like being a Cyclist. Not a Bike Rider, not a cycle rider ..... non of the other names the commenters use during their reports of cycling in and on the media. A Cyclist, a sup...
