I only reserved camping for the two nights for a driver so does Phil want a breakfast booking at little salkeld?

Re: WIMPS Coast To Coast 2019

I hope you Wimps have all included hill climbing in your training. Hill climbing ... have you not noticed my almost flat routes of late ..... :D A phrase from our last grand endeavour ... "There is no hill so steep I cannot push a bike up it" .... although Berriedale was close ......

Looks good. Agree about not retracing our original route. Always fancied including some of the Scottish islands even if just Arran, but I guess too tricky. I take it you've avoided Loch Lomond side as it's supposed to be pretty hairy. From my point of view 2 weeks would seem more doable and practic...

Re: WIMPS Coast To Coast 2019

I hope you Wimps have all included hill climbing in your training. Day 1 has a few long drawn out sections and a couple of biggish banks Day 2 starts climbing more or less from the start has loads of steep hills and a couple of long downhill sections. One of the hills Crawleyside Bank is aptly named...

Re: Lejog for wimps please- or am I on my own? ( merged )

Suggested Wimps Jogle part 1 Scotland.Ive always wanted to do Inverness to Fort William so that's on here I've also missed those nasty hills near jog. On Lejog I pretty much picked the general route after discussions with Landsurfer. Cycleruk and KFT refined the whole thing and forum members made he...

Re: WIMPS Coast To Coast 2019

I wouldn't want to guarantee Phil (the driver) won't want an ale or two in the pub. I think it would only be right to ask him and possibly find a volunteer to drive back after all, he is doing us a huge favour.... Last time I stayed on this site 5 years ago there were 3 of us and the site owners so...

That was my thinking ...carry lights :D

I would be worried leaving an expensive bike outside a pub for a couple of hours

Re: Lejog for wimps please- or am I on my own? ( merged )

I know most of us don't want a reversal of our Lejog route and that I fancy including Inverness to Fort William via canal path.
Has anyone else got ideas of places that they want to see or avoid.

Re: WIMPS Coast To Coast 2019

We need to pay the balance to the site owners soon. If you haven't already told us if you want breakfast at the first campsite Please confirm it now, the second site isn't bothered as the cafe is open anyway. The nearest pub for the first evening meal is a couple of mile away from the site and I can...

I’d be happy to contribute towards fuel costs if it means we don’t have to carry kit. We could also go back to camping. Nick, you could lend Ken your tent to save him carrying the monster tent..... :) I think sharing fuel and other costs is a great idea and I would take up the offer of the tent loa...
