Re: Any ideas as to how I can get this undone

So what exactly is "stupid" about putting a clearance drill down a hollow male / female thread form ? In about 10 seconds the chain ring bolt will be in 2 pieces without any damage to your chainset or chainring. Unless your too "stupid" to use a drill of course.... :) I meant th...

Re: Any ideas as to how I can get this undone

Nah I'm not that stupid. If the Park tool doesnt work I'll have to live with it on tour then go at it with a drill when I return. So what exactly is "stupid" about putting a clearance drill down a hollow male / female thread form ? In about 10 seconds the chain ring bolt will be in 2 piec...

Re: Any ideas as to how I can get this undone

Your not trying to turn the slot are you ? You are turning the allen key side and only using the slot for torque reaction ? Yes that's right. Just to hold it still. Well the park tool will be no use if the coin in the mole grips will not work, the edges of the slot either side of the male thread lo...

Tried it. Tried everything that would fit in the slot.

Re: Any ideas as to how I can get this undone

Perhaps take it off, clean up the threads and grease them so that it will do up finger tight with ease. Then when you put it back on it should contact the chainring metal before becoming stiff to turn, by which time the chainring contact should be enough to hold it while you turn the other side. Pr...

Any ideas as to how I can get this undone

I cant tighten from the other side (you can see the Allen Key) because the bugger wont stop rotating on this side. There isnt enough metal proud of the surface to get anything on it and that slot isnt deep enough to hold anything I've tried putting in it (fingers are all bloody where pliers have jum...

Re: Bike cam help wanted

My biggest disappointment with the Roadhawk is the battery life, which is a shame as other than that it is not a bad camera. As a lot of my commute is early in the morning (5am out of the house), the cold obviously has an impact on the duration of the battery in use. My reasons for buying have been...

Re: Bike cam help wanted

... I had a couple of close shaves recently (bus pulled out from a side road and a lorry overtook within inches. Scared the life out of me.) and video of them would have been handy if I'd gone to the Police. .... These are a couple of situations where the typical helmet camera/ dash cam with a wide...

Re: Bike cam help wanted

My Roadhawk is an earlier model and that uses any micro card without problems. Mine is helmet mounted, which is okay, other than unless you attach the cable, attach that to a battery it will not last for my commute (60 minutes each way). That seems a bit restrictive for head movement, so I don't bo...

Re: Bike cam help wanted

The RoadHawk Ride seems to do everything you wanted - a) yes, b) yes, c) USB charging so you just need any charger that gives a standard USB output. For longer run times you can get a waterproof battery or a waterproof end cap with a standard USB connector at the other end to connect whatever power...

Re: Bike cam help wanted

Anyone have any problems installing the Roadhawk software? When I open the installation file a pop up box appears with an incrementing bar indicating that the software is being installed and then disappears. But that's it. Nothing else. No icon appears and no 'Run software' dialogue box appears. Tr...

Re: Small portable cable cutters for touring

I was just following the manual which says: "winding out the cable adjusters increases the shifter tension, winding the cable adjusters in decreases the shifter tension." It does mean more play but I'm used to it and don't mind, being at an age where carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis a...
