Re: Funniest clean joke I've heard recently

This may be a joke but it's based on a serious article : NASA Data Shows Something Leaking Out of Uranus I suppose it all depends on how you pronounce* it! So is that why there's been such a run on loo rolls?   * Believe it or not, I remember Patrick Moore, in his early days, used t...

Re: Who do you resemble?

A resemblance I used to be saddled with, when I was a lot younger, was not one to be proud of, today. I remember, when I was in my 20s, cycling along, kids used to shout after me "Hey! Rolf Harris!" Luckily I don't look in the least like him now. I think it was the beard, the glasses and t...

I use wholemeal only for my pancakes
It's strong flour that isn't brown or wholemeal.
Does that answer your question?

Blimey! It was only just announced that he had c19 - must mean he'd been trying to hide it and kept on working. That's probably how Boris got it, then.

Do you have a link to a report of his death because I can't see one yet?
I doubt if anyone would have noticed....

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

let Whitty take over as caretaker PM . Not being an MP or even a politician is immaterial in these times.[...] Personally, I think our leaders should be democratically elected. I don't think we're going to get such a constitutional change just now! I also doubt that a non-MP would be able to comman...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

I think he's doing a pretty terrible job. But I still think it's right to prioritise testing him as head of government, and I wish him well in his illness and hopefully recovery. Even more vital, I think, would be to ensure that the person who I hope is really in charge in these troubled times, Chr...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of anyone in the UK that has received notification that they are in the 'seriously at risk' category? I refer to the notifications announced by the government that should be arriving between 23/3 and 29/3. Just looking for a first hand knowledge answer to this ...

So....Bozos "mild symptoms"...seriously ill?
Not quite true: there is prioritised testing for key workers such as NHS staff and delivery drivers. Maybe BoJo qualifies as a 'key worker' - although that's debatable.... :?

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Boris Johnson has tested +ve. I disagree with him in almost everything but I wish him well. Agreed. I loathe the man but not enough to wish this on him. All the best for a speedy recovery BoJo! There could be a plus to this: if he makes a good recovery, this could offer a glimmer of hope to others ...

Re: Boris Johnson: Why is a proven liar in power?

This wretched virus and its' fear has nothing to do with Brexit. So are you imputing that the inability to import much-needed ventilators from Europe where they are available, because "we have left the EU", has nothing to do with Brex**it? Or alternatively, are you imputing that the short...

Re: Boris Johnson: Why is a proven liar in power?

Now there are rumours that Rishi Sunak might be rooting for the Top Job . I suppose it's a matter of being the Right Person in the Right Place at the Right Time - having overseen the biggest financial giveaway, probably, in history - out of pure necessity, granted. So how would he make out? I can ha...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Well, as I've already said, we're still cycle-shopping - about once every two days, which is more often than we ought to I suppose, but we don't buy all that much and with the supermarkets' "one-out-one-in" policy it's possible to keep one's distance - just about. And we're combining essen...
