Re: VO Grand Cru 27.2mm Set Back Seatpost spare parts ?

I think Brucey has nailed the ultimate problem in that the shaped washer is lying somewhere on the road and sourcing a satisfactory replacement is likely to prove problematical. Given that I need a working seat post quickly I will have to bite the bullet and fork out for a new MKII post (and if I ca...

VO Grand Cru 27.2mm Set Back Seatpost spare parts ?

Having been side swiped by a motorbike on my last ride, I was hoping that my next ride would be less fraught however, whilst less painful, it was not to be uneventful ... 30 miles in and my saddle collapsed (fortunately without dumping me on the floor - only had the stitches out of my elbow this mor...

Re: Paul Sherwen R.I.P.

It is indeed sad news ... Phil, Paul and Channel 4 were my introduction to the TdF in the 1980’s and whilst the mainstream broadcasters eventually moved onto Ned and David, his voice (with Phil’s) will always have a place in my heart as a reminder of my early youth and my initiation into the mysteri...

Re: How to Mount a Fly 6 CE Camera/Rear Light - Proposed solution

Thanks for the various suggestions - I now have a plan .. not a cunning plan :-) The Fly6 CE has the option of a rear rack mount bracket see here https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Cycliq/Fly6-Rear-Pannier-Mount/J77X Its a bit "Heath Robinson" like but I am considering a bracket in the follo...

Re: Lancashire County Council - road defect policy

Thanks for the various suggestions to my query.

I have located what I believe to be Lancashire County Council's road defect policy here http://council.lancashire.gov.uk/documents/s126074/Appendix%20A.pdf (for those interested)

Cheers

How to Mount a Fly 6 CE Camera/Rear Light - any suggestions ?

I have been pondering for some time the use of the cycling equivalent of a dash cam and the market has now matured enough for me to open my wallet. The range offered by Cycliq seems to fit the bill and I have already ordered a Fly 12 CE 122 with a Duo Mount for the front of my bike For the rear, the...

Lancashire County Council - road defect policy

I recently wrote to Lancashire County Council (LCC) to express my concern as to the deteriorating state of the surface on a local road that I transit regularly on my bike - its called Cobbs Brow Lane/Vale Lane. It can be viewed on Google street view here https://goo.gl/maps/frjWwiWh6so (I only wish ...

Cyclist on trial for manslaughter

There is actually a link within Martin's latest blog linking to an earlier post he made comparing different incidents and legal results which makes most interesting reading. See here https://thecyclingsilk.blogspot.co.uk/2009/11/cycling-against-car-culture.html It is apparent that little has changed...

Cyclist on trial for manslaughter- sentenced

It is alleged that a cyclist riding a fixed wheel bicycle, without a front brake fitted, and riding at speed hit a pedestrian causing her untimely death. Just in case the manslaughter charge does not stick, the fall back charge is the old offence of "causing bodily harm by wanton or furious dri...
