Re: Knocked of his bike
Well it's worked for me twice now, the last time was a hit and run and finally getting a police crime number helped me no end in making a claim from the MIB. It took 2 years, a couple of appointments with private consultants and an MRI scan. But I never gave up, I was expecting to receive around £4 to £5k but was offered £12,300 which I excepted. Being hit from behind at 40mph does hurt!!!

Best thing to do if you get knocked off your bike is to stay down and pretend your legs broken.

Re: Choosing a bike tyre. 6 questions I need help with.
Well I used to have conti gp4000s but twice I had a small hole appear in the sidewalls and the inner tube started coming through. Always used gatorskins on my winterbike with no problems so use them year round now. At Wiggle the wired ones are £19 and they send them in a massive box so they don't fold them up and knacker the bead, have them delivered by collect+ and collect them from your local shop.

Re: Reinventing the wheel - Cannondale AI
They'd do better redesigning the stupid press fit bottom bracket that most bikes are now fitted with. What a load of crap they really are.

Maybe you need different bartape? I always used to wear mitts but used to end up with white hands and a brown patch on the back of them!!

Re: attaching a frame fit pump that doesn't
Park tool made a one size fits all pump and it fits my 25inch frames alright, think they've stopped making it but you can still get them. You'd be better off with a C02 pump, I've had one for a while now, woooosh and your tyres up to track pump pressure no sweat!!

Sounds a bit of a slog to me, the author says he used canal towpaths and old railway tracks. Mick F will tell you the best route.

Re: Help - have I messed up my Shimano hydraulic brakes?
Hope you get your brakes sorted. Is it true that on some motorbikes pulling the brake lever applys both brakes at the same time?

Re: Tredz customer service
I only used them once, I ordered a combination lock for my mountain bike, they sent a key operated one and would only change it if I would pay 2 lots of postage. Never been on their website since.

Re: Chain Reaction Cycles
Placed an order on Friday dinnertime, had an email at 4pm to say it had been dispatched. Text came through this morning (monday) to say it had been delivered to the collect+ shop that I'd selected. Picked it up on the way home! Tracking system is good too.

Mick F may be up for it? Be a good test for his new bag.
