Way of the Roses route

We are planning our next tour in Spring 2011, having previously done C2C and the Northern part of the Lon las Cymru. We've just spotted the new coast to coast rise "Way of the Roses" being promoted by Sustrans. Has anyone done this yet? If so, how does it compare to the C2C / Lon las Cymru...

Re: Shrewsbury/North Wales

or you could link up to the Cheshire Cycleway and do that - excellent ride over 3/4 days plus a day or 2 to link to it.

As the original poster of this thread a long, long time ago now, you may be interested to hear that a year or so ago I was offered a local retiring cyclist's garage contents. ...... Tucked away in the bottom of one of the boxes was a tin of old nuts and bolts. .......Tucked away in the bottom of the...

What Size Chain - 10 speed?

I need to replace the chain on my old 10 speed pub hack. I have a couple of spare new chains from a 12 speed.

Does anyone know if I can use these chains on a 10 speed or are they slightly thinner?

Thanks,

Noel

Re: Tent for Scottish Western Isles tour

Search for "Argos tiger Paws" on the forum. They are great value and have good headroom for sitting up etc. Just did 4 days round Cheshire in mine and it was faultless (apart from being bright orange!)

Re: Looking for campsite - Wybunbury, Cheshire

I have been meaning to post an update on this - lovely place! We had the warmest welcome on the hottest day of the year. Within 5 minutes we'd been piled into patio chairs with a pot of tea and biccies!

Highly recommended.

Re: Cheshire Cycleway

I should have said also - have you got this book http://www.sustransshop.co.uk/products/5120-ultimate-cheshire-cycling-guide ? Loads of recommendations for B&B/Hotels etc in there. But we still struggled to find campsites on the southern leg. Weather is picking up nicely for the weekend - I may ...

Re: Cheshire Cycleway

Two of us are about to set off on Thursday, camping at Delamere, Bollington, Wybunbury and Beeston. I'll add feedback about the campsites we use. We too struggled to find sites, especially around the southern bit of the loop. I just checked the Cheshire CC archive site listed and that also has very ...

What road bike tyres?

Hi. Back to the fount of all knowledge...... My son's road bike (Giant SCR 1.5) has a cut in the front tyre - not huge but big enough to see the tube peeking in at the bottom ....Obviously it needs replacing. I know what I would recommend if it was a touring tyre he was looking for, but have no real...

A friend and I are planning on doing the Cheshire Cycleway over 4 days in a month or so.

Can anyone recommend any camp sites on the route?

Thanks,

Noel
