... where I can get Shimano spare parts?

I have broken the expander bolt on my Shimano Dura Ace bar ends (through my own stupidity!).

Does anyone know where/whether I can order a new one anywhere?

Thanks

I have just picked up a second hand Discovery 601 and it is a great bike. Similar kit to my Galaxy but in a much lighter package. I think it would make an excellent commuting bike and would have no worries about doing extended day rides/tours on it. Depends how much weight you'd be carrying (e.g. ca...

I was in the same position last year and really fancied the Vango that the poster earlier referred to, for the porch area and 2 doors. I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend that much money though. Anyway, I came across the Lichfield Cherokee 2, which is very similar but heavier - however, much cheaper....

Thanks Mick - I had of course read of and admired your exploits with Barbarella!

The local places are quoting £50 and it was recollection of your £30 deal that prompted the question!!

Powder Coating - Wirral

I'm renovating a mountain bike for my son and need to get the frame/forks powder coated.

Does anyone have any recommendations where I can get this done in Wirral/Cheshire.

On a budget so if you know anywhere cheap, even better!!

Thanks,

Noel

Something you might want to consider is that the Selle Royal has significantly more backward adjustment on the saddle rails than the Brooks. I really struggled getting a comfortable fit on my Galaxy and ended up taking it to Hewitts in Leyland for a fitting. Paul resolved it by substituting a Selle ...

Thanks everyone - Mercian and Bob Jackson both look very good. Prices look more reasonable than I would have thought from them as well.

I had an old (mid - 1990s?) Giant Boulder that I had set up for commuting but also made a fine cheap touring bike. The geometry was really comfortable. There was plenty of heel clearance for panniers - it even had the fork bosses for lowrider racks, though I never used them. It was one of the most c...

Do Bob Jackson and Mercian both respray other manufacturer's frames then?

Frame Refinishing North West

Can anybody recommend somwhere in the North West/Cheshire area for re-finishing the frame of my Raleigh Randonneur? I think I would prefer enamel to powder coating, as I'd like to retain a 2 colour finish (thinking of something like Flamboyant Red with Ivory head tube.) I don't mind driving up to ab...

I second the vote for Altura Nevis. Good waterproofing and warm in winter.

My 13 yo is about average size and recently stole my 21" frame road bike! He is very comfortable and stable on that with the seat right down and forward. Recently rode the Liverpool > Chester > Liverpool 56 mile ride successfully, so must be about right!

Thanks John.

Do you know whether they are intended for different applications - e.g. is one of the rims more suited to heavier use?
