Re: Sorted now - B&B in Selby with bike storage

Only just spotted this and can see that you've sorted it... but in case of you becoming unsorted, and for anyone else, I live very close to a B n B in the village of Eastrington, about 10 miles east of Selby, frequently used by cyclists, and 10/10 on booking .com
Field View B&B.

Re: repeating prescriptions from nhs

Interesting. I have had no problem with ordering and receiving my regular doses...couple of clicks and I get a txt from the pharmacy saying 'collect now ' a couple of says later.
What really bugs me (am I unreasonable?) is that one if my prescriptions is for 28 tabs. But they arrive at the pharmacy from wherever in packs of 30.
So the pharmacist has to cut 2 tabs off mine (and presumably everyone else's) prescription . And sometimes I'm the unlucky one who gets a boxful of shrapnel.
Can get my gp to prescribe 30 at a time? Nope.
The amount of time and effort it must take to open every 30 box and cut 2 off....
Rant over.

Re: Has anyone road cycled Madeira?

It just so happens I'm there now....without the bike.
Roads are good....lovely tarmac.
Drivers are good...not much traffic and very aware.
The roads are hilariously steep. I'm using a hire car. Had it for a week. Got into 5th gear once. 8o% of my driving has been in 1st or 2nd gear.
Have seen one road cyclist and a dozen mtb riders.
If you're young enough, fit enough and brave enough......

Re: Recession, what Recession?

While we're talking bread (of all sorts) today I needed a loaf to entice fish onto a hook.
My local garage only had one loaf. It was a strange looking, yellowish sliced loaf which cost £2 and had a sell by date... of December 22nd!!!
What the hell is in it? And do people actually eat it?
Fish didn't.
We bake our own 'proper' bread.

Re: Buying something - not as described

Good thinking. I'll be so old and demented by then I probably won't notice, and if I do it probably won't matter anyway. I'll have a word with the bin men

Re: Buying something - not as described

Well I can't offer anything on the tape measure, but...
Today I unwrapped the new 2023 calendar and started to put on stuff for next year....birthdays, car mot dates etc and eventually got to the bin collection days for our multiple bins.....and....why the he'll are they collecting our bins on Sundays?
A slow dawning....inside the posh 2033 cover, was a 2022 calendar.
Now that is definitely not as described and I've been really ripped off.
Cost me 50p from a local cheapo stuff shop.

Re: New Wahoo Roam

Pls forgive my jumping on your post.

I have a wahoo roam (not the new version).
Love it apart from the altitude and ascent/descent readings.
The other day I rode at an altitude of -29 feet (my house is just about at sea level) and my ascent and descent readings are never equal and can be really silly (ascent 120m, descent 230m) for instance.
Is your wahoo (or anyone elses equally inept...and is the new one any better?

Re: Insurance requirements - realistic?

I'm with Barclays. £49 a year. Insure the most expensive, and all other bikes are covered.
This cover appeared in a previous post here...which is where I got it from.
