Not sure that there's a definitive answer. I don't ride at night and almost all of my rides are on rural roads. Lots of drivers going fast on sometimes quiet roads.
I always ride with flashing lights front and rear. Rechargeable and bright.
I feel happier and that's a big thing as I'm sure that it 'wakes up' a few drivers each ride and that's just fine.
When I'm driving, I can see flashing lights well in advance (not round bends!) and have time to prepare.
Can't think of a reason not to use them

Re: Solar panels
Yup.....change my provider every year. During the last 8 years I have been with EDF, Scottish Power, British Gas, Avro and a couple of others.
My solar FIT is through EDF ..... they stay the same whatever supplier you use. You don't need to inform them or do anything else.

Re: Why are they so ugly?
Gain D30
Was it important that it was pretty?
Well yes, but that was not the only deciding factor.
Weighs in at around only 13kg and that means it's easily lifted on to the back of my van, and also that I can ride it with motor off....which I do over 50% of the time .... and still make good speeds.
Oh and I can get up those pesky hills despite 2 knee operations and a shoulder operation, and the ravages of old father time.
Oh...and the joy of overtaking my son ....proper cyclist and 35 yrs younger....while uphilling!

Re: Editing gpx files
Sorry for not posting earlier.
Found out (eventually) that there was a fatal error on my Mio (9 yrs old)
Blasted the bank and bought a Wahoo, which had no problem doing this process.
Thanks again to all for your help

Re: Editing gpx files
OK...so I can get to cycle.travel
I can get to 'map'
I can invent a route from x to y (looks good, by the way)...but I don't want to do that today.
I have in my hand (!) a gpx file grabbed from 'lost lanes'
How do I upload it to cycle.travel
Sorry about this...normally I only cut bread and paste wallpaper. And eat chocolate

Re: Editing gpx files
Cycle.travel....that simple eh?
Thanks. Silly question....does dragging the start to where I want it mean that the old start/finish just blends into the route?

Re: Editing gpx files
Thanks for those prompt replies, and promising leads.
I have windows 10. I rarely design routes on my pc and have even more rarely followed turn by turn routes on my Mio. Battery anxiety!
If I'm planning it will usually be on strava. Then have a quick look at a road map and an OS map.
I have had bike computer issues in the past...the common one being refusal to acknowledge a short cut or a departure from.the planned route, and then I get stroppy!
Have followed the 'which program' threads on here with interest!
