First campsite in France.

Am booked on tonights 11pm ferry to Dieppe. Getting in at 4am. Have done some research both on this forum and with Google but not really much the wiser on a place to stay my first night. Will no doubt be tired and will definitely be needing a shower. Don't want to do too many miles so can I be reall...

Re: Getting the willies!

Thought that taking the train to Croydon would be cheating so cycled down through London from Highgate. What a horrible, horrible GRIND cycling through London is! If it is not the potholes or dodgy road maintenance its the minicabs trying to kill you! Didn't leave home till 3:30 and took it easy so ...

Re: Getting the willies!

Thanks everyone for your replies.... sorry for going rather quiet but I decided to take a few days off with the bike and see a bit of the Home Counties. For some reason was unable to log in using my Nexus 7 Tablet. I've managed to negotiate my time off till Easter which will take a bit of the time p...

Can't Log in

I've tried to log in on my Google Nexus 7 but the forum REPEATEDLY says that my password and/or username? is wrong. I've quadruple checked my user name and password are being entered correctly but to no avail. To prove that I do actually know my username and password I've entered it into my laptop a...

Getting the willies!

O.K my long planned tour London to Paris and back starts on Sunday. Am looking forward to it but have to say I'm feeling apprehensive. Due to various factors I've not booked much açcomodation in advance which I think is the main reason I feel so un-nerved. Is this a normal feeling before a trip? Any...

Chainberlains Camden Town Gone

Used to be a classic LBS selling a wide range of quality kit. Looked at getting an Ultra Galaxy from them before deciding a CX bike is what I needed.
Shop has changed into a Giant factory shop...anyone have any more info on this?

Any of you long-distance tourers out there, both male and female, do Pilates? Would LOVE to do either Pilates or Yoga unfortunately (in London at least) its seen as a Yummy Mummy Zone1 past time and priced accordingly. :( I've got a book somewhere on Tai Chi which I found excellent for the 6 odd mo...

Re: My cheap new Action Cam

I think it's back to the reason for your recording. I'm not looking to use footage in case of an accident. If its there then fair enough but the chances I'll get something useable with one forward mount camera is very slim. Not an expert on editing but have found that my 2011 laptop has pretty much...

2) Try and get hold of something like a powermonkey solar/battery charger for your travels. Something like THIS strapped on the outside of the pannier bag it will charge the internal battery during the day, plug into the camera at night and trickle charge. Have over the years spent a fair few £'s o...

Retro bike fit

A friend bought a bicycle through cycle to work recently. He had a test ride etc and all seem to have been O.K

Having now ridden the bike on a daily commute for month or so he's finding that its less comfortable. Would a basic (sub £50) paid for bike fit be a worth while purchase?
