Re: Garmin 800 not showing track up

Excellent! :D Now you've done a reset, you should check the software for updates. https://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp Done that thanks. I was getting a bit worried as I didn't want to have to buy another one. This one has served me well, and does what I need it to do. The n...

Re: Bikes on Trains UK - what do I need to know

I'm wondering what happens if you have a reservation, but the bike spaces are taken by bikes that are not reserved? I made a journey with a folder recently and spoke to another cyclist on board who'd just hung his bike up without a reservation, so no vacant bike spaces remained. I think you would h...

Re: Garmin 800 not showing track up

Yes, it was working for many years and at some point started doing what I have described. This was annoying, but didn't really cause too many issues over winter, but now it's summer and I'm touring again on unfamiliar roads, and it's led my astray a few times. I will erase the data - I don't need an...

Re: Garmin 810 not showing track up

Have you changed the activity profile you are using (even by accident) as the map orientation is set seperately for each. (Tools) > Activity Profiles > (choose profile) > Navigation > Map > Orientation Should let you check / change the setting. Actually just plugged it in to Garmin Express and it s...

Re: James's 8 day lejog 28th June - 7th July.

Rather than put my ride details on the Mick fast but safe thread which I started I thought would start a new thread logging my prep, ride and post ride observations. Started packing tonight still more to do.... https://photos.app.goo.gl/yikrC6zBHntNTKr59 Two pairs of shorts or one? I had intended o...

st599_uk wrote:The bike area is just some fold up seats next to the toilet with a bike logo and 2 velcro straps. (Unless it's a new SW train which no longer has a toilet).

It's in the main carriage. There's no special bike carriage or guards van.

Re: Bikes on Trains UK - what do I need to know

Each train operating company has their own rules. SWT has bike restrictions in place during the week in morning and evening peak times. If your bike is allowed on the train, then you need to watch the train as it comes in, 1 or 2 doors will have a bike logo. Next to this door is a space for bikes, ...
