Re: Tektro CR-510 Cantilever - Threaded or Unthreaded?

threaded where exactly?

Dunno, but when you by them, there's a choice between the two.

Tektro CR-510 Cantilever - Threaded or Unthreaded?

I just know they're 55mm, but not their thread type.

and lots of people may 'love 'em' - but it's not the subject of this thread!

It's a public board. Deal with it.

Re: Continental 'Top Contact ll' tyres

I've been using Continental Contact 700 x 32mm for a couple of years, and I love 'em. Hard wearing, and not a single puncture. And, these are the 'ordinary' Contacts that my new bike came with, not the fancy Top Contact II verson.

Re: SPA CYCLES 631 Tour Special

It looks identical to my Ridgeback so my wallet won't be coming out. The titanium job with discs looks nice, though.

Tyre Games

My Ridegback alloy tour has been wearing 32mm for a couple of years. I was becoming impatient being hammered on grotty lanes which are > 50% of my mileage. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a set of Panaracer Tours in 38mm. The difference was surprising. Far more comfortable than the 32's. The bike no...

Re: Assault?

I would report it to the police, anyway.

All I saw was a white van. Unfortunately, no number plate noted & I didn't even see if it was a man or a woman. All over in a second, so nothing of use to tell the Law. My turn as a victim, I suppose.

Assault?

Wish I'd had a helmet cam. A few days ago the following transpired: Hants, Bishops Waltham. I turned out of Limekiln Lane on to The Hangers (B3035) for the 450m run to Sailor's Lane. I noticed a white van coming around the sharp right bend ahead, approaching fast. I had my head downish, so not conce...

Sunday Trains - Hants to London?

Planning a trip to London Waterloo from either, Winchester or Basingstoke on Sunday leaving early morning.
Can you just show up with the bike & buy a ticket? I assume Sunday is offpeak.
Tnx.

Re: Looking to upgrade from the Garmin edge touring

@Bez
...plan it in detail on a computer and then send the route to the device

That's what I do.

1. Plot my route on [cycle.travel]
2. Export it as a GPX.
3. Feed it to my Garmin Edge 200.
4. Follow the breadcrumbs - works every time!

Diverge A1, Defy 1 Disc, or Other?

Looking at endurance roadies. I fancied the Diverge A1, then noticed it's a recycled Cirrus with drops and mediocre parts - at a premium price. A looker but overpriced and already seems obsolete. Everyone raves about them, though. The Defy 1D has better spec for the same money, it's 2kg lighter, pro...

Re: Route calculation error ..garmin 800

Why can it not be as simple as car gps .

Because, cyclists are in a captive market. AKA, why can't cyclists find inexpensive do anything gps, as motorists can? See sentence 1.

Re: cheap train tickets

My train use would be entirely dependent on the next days weather - or lack of. This precludes booking tickets in advance.
