24 spoke wheels

Hi. My Croix de Fer has a Shimano RX31 wheelset. Whilst these are great for the majority of the riding I do, I've not yet done any heavy loaded touring on them. They've only got 24 spokes so I'm unsure if they're really suitable. What are your thoughts ? Should I be thinking of a different wheelset ...

Apparently there is a voucher in Thursdays daily mail. Spend £45 and get £5 off.

Re: Whyte road bikes

I understand the Whyte Suffolk is a good bike. I was looking at one prior to deciding on my Croix de Fer build.

I've specified TRP Hy/Rd on my new Croix de Fer build. I shall report back once it's delivered.

Re: First dynamo

Not sure if there's a braze on actually. It's not delivered for a couple of weeks but it's a custom build Croix de Fer.

Re: First dynamo

Yes I agree. I've just invested in a new bike so having a new wheel built up is beyond me financially at the moment.

First dynamo

Hi. I'm thinking about trying a dynamo front light for the first time. I'd be interested in suggestions for a decent bottle dynamo and light that won't break the bank. To put that into perspective, I've been considering the Axa HR traction dynamo with the Axa nano 70 plus, so about £70 ish for the p...

Re: New Croix de Fer

Jealous! I'm getting a custom build Croix de Fer but the frameset delivery to Genesis is still on a ship somewhere at sea.
For the record, I've gone for a shimano 105 11 speed groupset, trp hy/rd disc brakes, and a shimano rx31 wheelset and 3T finishing kit.
Due at the end of the month.

Re: Trans Penine Trail

I recently rode from home in Halifax to my parents house on the Wirral, and used the trans Pennine trail from manchester onwards. I have a cheap and cheerful btwin triban3 and I have to admit that I was shaken to bits in some places due to the terrain of the trail. However, I absolutely loved it. Te...

Re: Triban for a Newbie - or something else ??

I bought a Triban3 about 18 months ago and for the money they're fantastic. I quickly upgraded the wheelset to something decent. I've since decided my needs are different, and I've invested in a custom build 2015 Genesis Croix de Fer. I should be picking it up from the lbs in a couple of weeks time.

Re: 2015 Croix de Fer build.

I've ordered the 56cm frame set for a custom build, but as a relatively inexperienced(ish) cyclist, I've chickened out of building it myself. I've specced it all out and the local bike shop are building it up for me.
My frame is due for delivery to the shop in a few weeks time.

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/24/845b91dc64e5408aeb68c1b18695281a.jpg I've got similar demands for my own new bike. Something rugged and versatile. Today I went into my LBS and ordered a genesis Croix de Fer, custom build. The frame set comes with a carbon fork. I've upgraded the groupset...

Thanks all. I was assuming 32mm would fit with mudguards but I'll have to check now.
