Re: Forks stuck fast
PT1029 is spot on with the plusgas. By far the best thing you can use to sort this out. You'll need quite a bit but it can be re-used. Hang the frame so that the forks and the headset are immersed in the solution. Leave for at least a week before you try to loosen them. Buy the 5 litre one if I were...

Re: Fit question stretched out on the hoods
I haven't read every reply to this so excuse if this has been covered. Is that a lay back seat post on your bike? The saddle seems to be quite set back. I'd go at least an inch towards the front of the bike with that seat. If you take the line from the seat tube it should pass through the centre of ...

Where do I measure the rear axle bolt? I'm assuming I take the measurement from the centre of the brake bolt to the leading back edge of the axle housing on the rear stay?

Re: David Lloyd 650c Reynolds 731 OS - F & F (photos added)
With the aide of invaluable info from forum members, I'm editing the original post as I find out more info. The chap who owns this bought it for £200 in 1995 and intended to build a bike from it. It's remained untouched ever since hence the condition.

Re: David Lloyd 650c Reynolds 731 OS - F & F (photos added)
Thank you both for the replies. Spot on. It's a concept 90 alright. The frame number is: LL 94940. This makes it a 1994 frame. The condition given it is 20 years old is amazing. It has an unused STX headset. I'll give the Retro Bike thread a good read tomorrow when I've got more time. Once again tha...

SOLD David Lloyd 650c Reynolds 731 OS - F & F
Apologies if this is not the correct area of the forum. I am in the process of selling a 1994 David Lloyd 650 frame and forks on behalf of an old chap I know. This frame is spectacular with one of the nicest paint jobs I've ever seen. It's a turquoise/green flip pearlescent paint with half chromed r...

1951/2 RUDGE PATHFINDER - DROP HANDLEBARS
The only non original part on my Rudge are the handlebars. They currently have a period set of straight bars. Does anyone know the correct drop handlebars bars that this would have come with when new? I've tried the internet but can't find any precise information on them. I've got a feeling they wer...

Where to Post a Fixie ?
Just thought I'd ask as I have a rather special Fixie for sale, is it normal practice to post a thread on the Road Section on the Forum?

CAMPAGNOLO 9 Speed Groupset Circa 2000 - 2003
Apologies if this has been covered before. My bike is a mid 90's Terry Dolan 531 Pro with a 9 spped Campag groupset. Never been keen on the black Campag Mirage dual pivots so intend to swap them for Veloce or Chorus. The chorus are used and were from a 9 speed in silver. I can get a new pair of Velo...

Re: DATING A HUMBER FRAME/BIKE
Thanks Brucey. Your detailed description from 1947 onwards describes my bike perfectly. It has the generator on the down tube and even has the original pump. Dunlop Stainless steel wheels are unmarked, incredible how they have stood the test of time. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of reference ...

DATING A HUMBER FRAME/BIKE
One of my more recent acquisitions is a Humber town or sports bike. I'm having trouble accurately dating it. The frame number is: 224843 H. I spoke to one of the chaps from the local CTC and he said not just to go from the date of the rear hub. That is 1950. He also said that the really desirable on...

Frame I'D ?
DSCN0480 (Small).JPG My creation. Adapted it for modern use. The frame has a full set of Nervex lugs. Think it's from 1958 ish SRAM BB and chainset. Full set of Mavic pro laced with 105 hubs and Continental Ultra Sport 25c. Shimano Tiagra full groupset including STi levers. Dia Compe dual pivots wi...
