Re: Tower Block Disaster

I saw a video on a documentary years ago where the residents of one floor of a high rise block, possibly in the USA, had demanded sprinklers to be fitted. Then there was a fire, spreading up the inside of the building, the sprinklers did stop the spread. The problem is next time there's a fire in a ...

Re: Winter Air

I could never work out why Midwinter's day was in December but winter never really starts till January :?: :?: :?: I’d b e worried if using Helium that my bike would float away at the cafe stop. That's where rock cakes come in handy. I can't work out why mid-day isn't in the middle of the day. I ge...

Re: Booze - minimum price?

What happens when minimum prices per unit are introduced, does the Tesco Value lager go up in price, along with every price point above it, or do they just stop selling the cheaper products until you reach the product that was already being sold at the price per unit that has been introduced.

Re: Rugger World Cup Fri 20th ITV

I remember the Australian PM back in 2003 being lampooned for the grumpy way he threw the winners medals onto the England players. I don't really see what the fuss is about, you spend 4 years specifically working towards a goal and many years before working hard to improve, reach the final after an ...

Re: Rugger World Cup Fri 20th ITV

I think the injury to Sinckler in the 3rd minute changed the game, after that South Africa just got given penalty after penalty at the scrums, whilst several should have been awarded to England but weren't, small margins. The scoreline flattered South Africa I think but then I think England should h...

Re: one ugly bike for 2020

Maybe this is misleading propaganda and the real bike is under wraps and further development, whilst other nations waste time trying to copy it.

Or where the 'plenty of room' was when there wasn't sufficient space for her to go between you and the car in front.

Did they explain why it's ok for her to move into her blind spot without checking it, when she had just overtaken?

Re: Rugger World Cup Fri 20th ITV

Work got right in the way of me watching Wales in the RWC and yesterday was the third Wales match I missed and I'm working next Sunday as well so I'll miss the final but hope that England stuff the lumpy and boring Boks. The World Cup Final is on Saturday morning at 9am GMT, I'm not sure why it's S...

Re: It's not rocket science

Helium does manage to escape, once it gets in the atmosphere it eventually will zoom off into space, gravity from the earth continues to act on it, but not enough to ever bring it back. Other molecules at the top of the atmosphere will head off into space but will come back as they aren't traveling ...

Re: Rugger World Cup Fri 20th ITV

Some people watch soaps, almost every night of the week, some watch more than one, the plot lines have been dreamt up by writers. Often the plot lines are in magazines before they have been on TV. 'Live' Sport, no-one knows what is going to happen, no-one would have thought Leicester City would win ...

Re: Advice on a hit and run accident.

The MIB should also be able to identify the insurer of the vehicle if there was one, I think here is where you need to go https://www.mib.org.uk/check-insurance-details/check-a-vehicle-not-at-the-roadside-after-an-accident/ It costs £4.50 though, but if you have all the proof you need on video the i...

Re: Bikes and air pockets (General not technical)

If you can, maybe watch this https://www.channel4.com/programmes/speed-with-guy-martin Episode one he cycles behind a truck if I remember correctly, I think there's a bit on aerodynamics. I would scroll through to find the relevant section but would have to watch adverts first and more if it's after...
