Re: Changing cheap brakes to Avid BB7

They look like standard fittings to me so it should be a straight swap. I've upgraded from v-brakes to BB7's on my hybrid and was faced with the same dilema as you with regard trying to work out the sizing. What I found is that it only really gets complicated if you upsize the front from 160mm, in w...

Re: Lower Achilles tendon pain?

If it is lower heel then it is most likely to be planter. When I suffered I too thought it was the tendon. Some nice ortha shoes or insoles really do make a difference. Most likely? Not really, more likely tendonitis/tendonosis. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport-injuries/ankle-pain/achilles-p...

Re: Lower Achilles tendon pain?

Do a bit of googling on

Plantar Fasciitis

Decent (orthapedic designed) shoes and or insoles help tremendously with this.

Bloody hurts, doesn't it.

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Stoic  More like a jelly in a bag of nerves. I worry about the 'next' event all the time. It has been just over three weeks since and things are calming down mentally. I've been propping myself up with chill-pills but am now weaning off them as I'm even worry about building up an addiction to ...

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Thanks Vorpal, I also take inspiration from Rick, he is a legend ! An often neglected part of any illness are the effects it can have on the sufferers mental health. As hopefully as we are all aware mental health is quite rightly being pushed in the media to raise awareness of it. Most people at som...

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Well, it has been a few weeks since the events. Things are mostly good, I'm out on the bike doing lowly six mile loops but am out every day. What I'm struggling with is anxiety, especially when sat still and in bed trying to sleep. I don't know if anyone else has suffered anxiety or panic but when i...

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Thanks Rik, Strangely this time I'm not quite as het up about it as previous events. It is curious actually, I'm feeling quite calm, a lot calmer than for a very long time. Thinking, you do a lot at times like these; I was on Flecainide for two and a bit years one of the major side effects listed of...

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Thanks Vorpal, I'm home now, a bit nervous and fragile but home all the same. Two, what would have been certain death cardiac arrests a few days ago and home a few days after thanks to the ICD. I'm currently still on / in the loading dose phase for the amio, so it'll be week or two until it takes ef...

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Thanks Rik,

Currently they have me on Amiodarone which is the long term fix.

I'm not too happy about it knowing the side effects but they cannot abalate the source of VT and the VF arrests.

At least I'm still here to moan about it !

Re: IMPLANTED CARDIOVERTER DEFIBRILLATORS.

Apologies for not responding Rick, I hope you are well and thriving !

Me, not so, I suffered two VF arrests on Tuesday from which the ICD shocked me back to life from.

Currently in hospital from where I write this and not feeling very well :?

Thinners / nail varnish remover (same thing) will work. I have actually done this rather than speculated about doing it. Re: Removing silver wording from saddle.

I've used cellulose thinners with great effect to do this.

Nail varnish remover will do the same.
