Re: Shimano 105 brake levers?

Would these work, Dia-Compe Gran-Compe ? They need some form of screw in cable stop/ferrule which are missing. You would be welcome to them if they're any good to you Mick, the hoods clean up ok with a bit of soapy water. I got them for free with a bike from another forum member. $matches[2] P1120655...

Re: Thorn Audax Mk4 or Spa Elan (steel)

I'm not sure which bikes you're comparing, I thought the Elan was Ti, is there a new steel version? Does the OP perhaps mean the Spa Aubisque which looks like a similarly specced bike to the Thorn ? https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m1b17s223p3867/SPA-CYCLES-Aubisque-105-Triple http://www.sjscycles.com/t...

Re: What music are you listening to now !

Marty Robbins,El Paso and Big Iron. El Paso was the first record I ever bought, with some money that my Mum or Dad gave me (to shut me up probably) from a remainder bin somewhere in central London in the early '60's.I always loved the Mexican style guitar on it, played by Grady Martin (I just disco...

Re: ancient cycling sign in Chester

A slight resurrection of this thread. I noticed another Road and Path Cycling Association sign in Wigan, on the former Victoria Hotel next to Wigan Wallgate Railway Station, together with a CTC Winged Wheel on the opposite side of the front door, photo taken yesterday. I found the number of cyclists...

Re: Toolkit pliers?

If you have a car, you may find a handy one in the toolkit if it has one, they open out so they would grip a nut as well, the one on the left is from a Toyota, the smaller one would be perfect.

Re: Did I bust my fork ??

I watched this video a while back it's by an Australian carbon repairer and tester, he shows various different designs of fork steerer compression plugs and what he thinks of them. Worth watching all the way through ( about 11minutes long). He illustrates the need for a well designed plug towards th...
