Re: New Route Planner

Richard, Somewhere you wrote that there are also campsites on the map. But a lot are missing. I looked at the map of my own surroundings in The Netherlands. And there are a lot of campsites. The difference is the tagging in OSM. "Campsite" is renderderd in your map, but "Caravan Site&...

Re: Eastern and Northern Europe Tips

Can anyone give us information on what the roads in these countries are like? Lots of traffic, lorries, tourists, country lanes, good condition or potholes, cycle paths and cycle routes? Traffic: Depends on what road. But overall it is very quiet. On the Estonian island Hiiuma on the main ro...

Re: Swiss Mittelland (R5) route

I've done this route years ago. The signage of the Swiss cycle-routes is almost impeccable. So you don't need the expensive guides for that.
I remember this campsite as a very nice one.

If it's for nature alone then there are better options in my opinion. If you like Van Gogh it is a must do.

Alternative route Arnhem - Amsterdam could be this.

I think there are better sites for planning.

GPSies
or
ridewithGPS Includes directly a profile of your route.

On both sites choose OpenBycicleMap.

Re: New Route Planner

@ Richard Fairhurst

Profiling of your routes works marvelous. In the southern part of the UK.
But north of Newcastle it doesn´t work properly. At least, for me. :?
I'm getting no profile al all.
Am I doing something wrong, or is Scotland completely flat. :D

Re: New Route Planner

Is there an "undo" facility? I've been playing with it but sometimes when I'm panning the map with the mouse I end up accidentally adding a ?waypoint where I don't want it, or I drag the route and decide I prefer the original. At the moment all I can do is reload the page which is a PITA....

Re: Touring in Belgium. what to see.

This is not abaut what to see, but where te stay, assuming you are sleeping in a tent. Some Dutch and Belgian cyclists made an overview of cycle-friendly campsites . The site is in Dutch/Flemisch, but mapreading is international (I hope :D ). The sites indicated in red are (temporarely) closed. Peter
