Brompton 3 speed shifter.
Can anyone point me at an exploded diagram of a 3 speed gear shifter fitted to a Brompton please? It is a 2017 3 speed single lever with bell and brake lever on a single mount. It has started to stick in position of gear selected rather than return to rest position. Happy to take it apart but would ...

First headset
Never ordered a headset before as previous frames always came with them.
Does a complete headset kit from Cane Creek come with the scuff washer and thrust plate?
Last headset was CK and all these items came with it but don't see them mentioned on CC website?

Re: Merging GPX files
I use Garmin BaseCamp but its a knife and fork edit.
You have to cut and splice by hand and the menus are not intuitive.
Also if the files were generated from ride data you lose that as well.
Other than that it can be done.

Re: Edit a gpx file - advice
Pretty sure you can do all that in Garmin BaseCamp but only used MS version but cant imagine that there is not an Mac version. You can drag gpx files into BaseCamp so don't need a device to download and watch out for the dreaded blue flags obscuring your path. Easy to change and reset once you know ...

Re: replacing shifters
if you are trying to fit SRAM parts go to the SRAM website and download the relevant pdf manual. It will tell you what to do. cheers Thanks but the SRAM tech stuff is really rubbish. It just goes off on a long description of how to install rim brakes under the Apex pdf. Thinking about it perhaps I ...

replacing shifters
I am replacing the SRAM Apex DT shifters and cables on my gravel bike over Christmas. I have only ever done this with Shimano MTB builds so this is not familiar territory to me. Unwrapping bars to get at cables? :( I do not seem to be able to find the fitting/set up instructions as per Shimano so if...

Re: Zinn Road Bike Maintenance - any good?
I have Zinn MTB version and (don't laugh) Haynes The Bike Book.
I more often than not find Haynes better than Zinn but not as good as YouTube.
I think if I had to choose a book it would probably be Park.

SRAM FD
I was planning on re fettling my bike over the winter and fitting an XT 11 speed drive train to replace the 10 SRAM that’s currently fitted. However over the summer I have come to like the 10 speed especially after changing from an 11-36T to an 11-40T cassette. Luckily the bitza build of this bike i...

Re: Which derrailleur, shifter for this chainset?
One further thought was that bar end shifters in friction mode might work. This write up got me looking at Di2. Substitute XT for XTR although oddly some XTR parts are cheaper than XT on ebay. https://www.toecutters.com/single-post/2016/05/20/Review-Di2-for-Bikepacking (Yes that is a pistol on the b...

Re: Which derrailleur, shifter for this chainset?
Or go Di2. The shifter is transparent to the system so you as long as it appears on the comparability chart it should work. Plus you can get away with only one shifter for front and rear derailleur using synchro shift. Your first reaction to this will be 'in your dreams' etc and 'have you seen the p...

Re: Effective Top Tube MTB vs Gravel Bike
I went from a 29er with Jones Loops to a Fargo with drops - Woodchippers - and hated it. As a winter project I was planning on changing to the new raised Jones Loops and a complete XT 2x11 speed groupset. Meanwhile I put an adjustable stem on and raised the bars and over the summer I have found I ac...

This may or may not be relevant but over in another place there is a 29 page thread about the Arkose.
