Re: WIMPS Coast To Coast 2019

It’s not the hills I’m worried about...have you seen the couple of characters waiting for us on the quayside?
That TV man looks mean.

Re: GPS Device for navigation

The only thing that’s changed in the past year with the main cycle computers are three new units.
Garmin 530 & 830
Wahoo Roam
Lezyne Mega xl

All with their own way of mapping and all offering far more functions than you’ll ever use. All with good battery life

R7 down through Clydebank and Glasgow beside the Clyde then onto R75 is really very good. No hills until Chatelrhault park that I can remember :)

Re: Ticks and wild camping!!!

Hi, Never used Deet, I just use over-the-counter on the shelves spray on insect repellent. It used to work on tics, I once had several dozen climbing up my legs after going through Bracken, Later on they all gone not one stayed. Treated the Mutts regularly And you would sometimes see them jumping o...

Re: Tampering with locks: wet rag on it?

Looks like they are targeting your lock not your bike. Maybe trying to move it?
Are things that bad down there that someone is going to spend days waiting there for the chance to steal your bike?

Did you try to go the same speed on the longer ride? You’ve only so much energy so use it wisely when you go further. Slow down

Re: Where is this?

A 1930 United sign using a curved top not a bus stop I know but might be the business identity? 6E4B1210-418F-4053-B607-2AEFE74CDC25.jpeg I can’t make out the bus stop sign in the photo but I do recall United bus stops from 50s and 60s being regular with united on the top and service numbers below it.

Re: Dog free campsites

We are CC and C&CC members and find all the above observations less of a problem on member only sites. Also I would say those children there with grandparents are often a lot better behaved than those with some parents. Especially those parents there for barbecue and booze. There are child free ...

Re: Dog free campsites

Noooo. Don’t get me or Mrs P started on that subject. Until recently we’ve always caravanned with a dog so we aren’t anti dog at all but some of their owners leave a lot to be desired. Its perfectly possible to keep your dog on your pitch and perfectly possible to walk it from there to the dog area ...
