Re: 75,065 miles in a year!

this seems like a good place to see TG record in detail, looks like he was fairly well scrutinised for his mileages http://phased.co.uk/tommy-godwin-faq/ The thing I cant seem to tally up though is how he was able to put weight on when he was having to consume in excess of 9500Kcals per day, every ...

As a boy on a farm I was taught at an early age it was easier to pull a barrow full of muck. In fact the byre step every morning would serve as a reminder every time you got it wrong.

Cycling glasses with prescription inserts

I just had an annoying conversation with the opticians I used to go to when I lived in Oxford, who refused point blank to tell me my PD... what's the point of such a refusal? Measure it yourself, or get someone to do it. I did it for my wife, when considering online specs, and was spot on to what t...

It's black upt North Mick [emoji3]. Even the hens don't want to come out at 8:00.
Usually anyone who wants to muck about with time lives or works in a city. I've always altered my working day to suit the light.

Re: Sciatica

I suffered with sciatica for years GP would prescribe painkillers. Eventually pain was so bad I resorted to try an osteopath. Best move I ever made, 3visits at £15 a time(20yrs ago) and I was pain free. [emoji3]

Re: Voyager Hyper tyre

I would put it with the groove pointing forward, like a tractor tyre. Back in the sixties we stored combine harvesters over winter for a dealer. He brought them 15mls on the road and always turned the wheels around so they wouldn't wear on the road. Sold as new machines the next year. So maybe you m...

Re: It's becoming ridiculous

Knowing how tight they are north of the border I am sure the YES voters had that factored in. Pity about that North Sea oil, the papers seem to think $50 a barrel is on the cards. They will probably put a special tax on Whisky although England Wales Sweden and Japan are doing some half decent...

Re: Spa Cycles (Harrogate)

Hehe I made an inquiry regarding a front derailleur got an email back selling me a chainset. I sent an email pointing out their mistake. That was the end of correspondence no further interest. A shop which, many years ago, sent out parts with an invoice. You paid or sent them back. Ah the good old d...

Re: CTC Club Ride Rules

WOW! I am genuinely stressed to read that. I've been a member for something like 20years. From the days when it was the Galloway Cycling Group. I didn't get to the AGM this year so have no knowledge of what has been discussed recently. To my knowledge we have never turned anyone away. I can recall o...
