Re: What happened there then?

I would have thought it a good thread to leave - reminding people of the risks of blind purchases and that they should consider the potential losses and what safeguards they might want to employ. I don't know if there were some iffy posts but those could be dealt with individually. The thread itsel...

Re: Using an Ipad for GPS on a bike

I use on my iPhone on the move.
Maps GB250K
Routing and creating a gpx file EasyRoute needs data connection.
Following that route :MapOut

I think EasyRoute is about 79p the others are free.

How do you fit an IPad in your pocket?

Re: Whats your worst ebay experience ?

I've been on EBay for something like 8 years with 271 transactions showing. Not had any bad experiences. I've had a couple of bad items where I've been given a refund without any hassle.
I've sold items and buyers have always been happy too.

I have the Zefal mirror. Worked a lot better after I removed the protective film from the glass. I won't tell you how long it took me realise it was there [emoji4]

Re: VW Fuel emmisions

. Current car is a 1.6 diesel Skoda pulling a 2berth with end bathroom caravan. Our last holiday was in Shropshire nearly 200 mls. Fuel consumption for 400 mls pulling a caravan at 60 mph or as fast as possible on the A49 was 37.5 mpg. I believe there are horses for courses. A diesel fills my needs ...

Re: Autumn Weekend Warmth

Just talking to someone the other day saying how we learn as we get older. I've been splitting logs for 40 yrs starting off with an any old axe. 25 years ago I bought a proper "Sthil"splitting axe which I still have. Then 10 yrs ago I discovered (thanks to YouTube) the "using a tyre&q...

Re: Autumn Weekend Warmth

I left my bike under wraps today and split 18-20 'rounds' of birch. With the rest of the ash I've got that makes my wood shed 3/4 full. Or 1/4 empty. I need more....b Feeling smug as I got my log shed ,10'x10'x6' filled up by the end of June. Sadly I can only get Sitka Spruce, Willow and Sycamore g...

Re: Long distance and touring GPS help (purchase)

Easily cured by a tiny strip of thick tape inside the battery case. I had one always cut out when mounted on bike. I tried tape inside the case it didn't work for me. I recall reading somewhere the cure was some soldering required in behind the battery case. I didn't bother , I sold it to someone a...

Hanging in trees is I think sometimes making a statement. "More doggy bins please?

Or I'll hang it here until I walk back, towards the often one and only bin, and then forget about it.

Of course, it's difficult enough to use a Scottish note in England - So I'm constantly being told and yet I've never had a problem. I'm not that widely travelled but I've passed them from Cornwall to Cumbria on the West and Lincolnshire to Northumberland on the East. Fill your tank with fuel or you...

Luggage scales, wrap loop over the cross bar and lift. Simple.

I think ALDI have them at moment for a few pounds

Re: If you don't like dogs you shouldn't walk on the beach

What really annoys me as a life long dog owner and dog worker is a dog owner that says,
"All the dog did was jump up"
They shouldn't and they shouldn't be encouraged to. I believe it's not acceptable behaviour.
