The car doesn't show on gov.co.uk site as being taxed or tested or indeed existing. Does this mean it's a fictitious number or registered somewhere else?
Regarding personalised number plates I recall Josie Dew reciting many while travelling New Zealand.

Re: Aldi cycle kit..
I think they trial credit cards in some stores, Scotland and Wales maybe.
I too like the speed of an ALDI checkout and as the last item goes through the scanner, in our store, the operator is already asking,"cash or card?"

Re: How to keep warm.
Layers........for many years I struggled with decisions ,what to wear?
Then three years ago a Buffalo changed my life. From, usually, October to April I have no choices to make. I just take my top off and wear my Buffalo next to the skin. Keeps me warm and dry and you alter your body's temperature with venting.
I also find my hands and feet are warm too. That's with only using Aldi's winter gloves 4.99 and their shoe covers. As I always, pre Buffalo, had cold feet I think this might be because the Buffalo keeps my body core temperature higher.
Lowest extremity I've used it is for ten miles at minus seven. I was warm as toast. Only problem I have is i never want to take it off.

Re: Trek Domane?
I've ridden the Domane 2.3 for over a year now it replaced a custom built 631 spec for audax.
The decoupler certainly works, you just sit down on rough bits rather than easing up. I have mudguards fitted with the 25mm tyres. The Trek dealer wasn't happy when they fitted them. Neither was I when a few month later I stripped them down and discovered they had fitted them wrongly/badly.
The original Affinity saddle was ok upto 60mls but I've since fitted a Fizik Antares and done comfortable rides upto 100mls this year.
I love the bike and would recommend it to anyone. All my ave speed times for rides are up on all distances/terrain. I was feared of losing my comfort "granny ring" when I moved to compact but it hasn't been needed so far.

Re: Can anybody recommend a year round commuting bike?
You need mine
I built it myself on an old Orsnge P7 mtb frame. 7sp Sram hub gear with back pedal brake. Front dynohub with LED lights all round. I do a 20 ml commute with it, clean and oil the chain occasionally and check the tyre pressures now and then.
You can't have it though I've still 21/2yrs to work

+1
Also one at Gretna Gateway Rbt always coincides with a meal stop for me.

Why groups of 3or 4?
I still recall the police making riders of the National 400 in Fife years ago insisting a group of 4 every couple of minutes. Imagine how frustrated drivers were with that by the time they tried to pass their twentieth group?

I haven't noticed the "ill-tempered" but I do wish it had been otherwise.
I wish the better together hadn't;

threatened us
Hurriedly put together some last minute carrot.
I wish the Yes campaign had
Given us credible figures to back up the dream,
made me believe we really can remain in Europe and not have the euro.

No........just helps to reinforce views
Take another from me when the media (maybe not accurate ) ask the people on the street which way they will vote ? they appear scared to say any thing / run away![]()
If you live in a YES street where someone has erected big YES votes and you are a No you dont want others to know you are a NO, because either way yes or no outcome, a NO you will get a brick from the yes and a YES you will still get a brick.
Fear is what we have in scotland, if I am to believe the media reporting...............
I find that laughable and it paints a picture resembling NI.
Can I assume your media information is English sourced? I believe you are being given a very jaundiced view down there. In my village there are stickers of both intentions in windows and we all still talk to each other. Moffat itself has large banners on the way in supporting both camps. Interestingly BBC Newsnight broadcast from Moffat last night chose to only show the NO banner entering the town.

It could have been founded by an Martian for all I care, but the Bank of England pre-dates the Acts of Union.
BofE was formed by Charles Montagu, 1st Earl of Halifax in 1694, but only proposed by William Paterson (Scottish) but not acted upon.
Seems like you're wrong then?
In the event of independence we get out share of the uk bank no matter what it's called. If it's not a uk bank then the debts are all yours too then?

Re: SCOTLAND.............
I have a vote on Thursday. Born in England but having lived longer in Scotland now at 62. I've been undecided for months but I now believe I will vote Yes.
Reason is I'm sick of the threats from better together and I'm so despondent of views from the very many like Mick F. They just don't seem to get that Scotland is a different and successful country. Thankfully beardy has been able to throw a clear light on the subject.

Re: First dynamo
A custom build will be what you specified then?
Now using a dynohub I'd never go back to a side wall dynamo. I'd recommend making do with battery lights until you could afford a dynohub.
