Overnight tour of the Isle of Wight -Slight Fail.

What if I fail?
Dan and I planned to bivvy on the Isle of Wight. We failed. For me, failure is simply an opportunity to learn. This is the story of our bikepacking trip.

Re: Removing rear dérailleur when flying

I used to leave mine on, now I detach it from the hangar. Nothing happened when I was flying, I reckon it's less likely to get damaged.

Re: Best Way to clean Waterbottles?

After washing and rinsing, I use a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda, some water then shake the bottle vigorously. Empty and rinse again. This takes any weird smells away.

Re: Genesis Longitude,first impressions.

Bit late to the party but my partner managed to get his hands on one that had been with a magazine for review. (They 'forgot' to send it back) and it became a replacement for his old bike a Genesis iO iD with a faulty Alfine 11. He's made a few modifications - Rohloff hub gear, Jones Loop Bars and a...

When a man moves his bike in, it's a menage a trois

When your partner gets a new Genesis Longitude, it's like he's taken on a new mistress.

Re: What do you do when the going gets tough?

Being away from loved ones is one of the toughest things I've had to contend with - and I dealt with ...

Re: Best brooks saddle for female riders/gift suggestions

Saddles are a personal choice, a bit like perfume. Get it wrong and you'll be the friend who doesn't really 'get her', get it right and you'll be BFF. I was given a Brooks B17 as a Christmas pressie. My boyfriend was lucky. I love it. http://www.farawayvisions.com/falling-in-love-with-a-brooks-saddl...

Thinking of going on a long tour?

I dithered for years before I went on a big trip. Sailing was my dream back then. Now I cycle and dream of travelling the world by bike. Here's what I learned from my dirty laundry.

Re: A night on the South Downs - Once in a Blue Moon

Thanks Phil I tried to explain to a friend what the Blue Moon was, but it got lost a 'lack of detailed information' Here is a full explanation by astronomer Dr David Harper. Perhaps this might help your friend understand. http://www.obliquity.com/astro/bluemoon.html He refers us to another source f...
