Re: Those with shortened cranks

I went from 175mm on my Trice Classic which felt too long from the off. I swapped them out for some very cheap 155mm's which had a really wide and slightly off centre ( wrong bb?) . I then fitted some 160mm Stronglights that feel fine. On my VTX I specced the 152mm Lasco's and they were lovely from ...

Re: Disc brake performance

On mountain bikes disks , like helmets, work brilliantly. Bizarrely there is an opinion that once on tarmac both are terrible failures, go figure.

Foe'd question

I have a grand total of one person on my foe list and while this successfully hides his posts it doesn't hide his quasi Daily Mail threads.
Is this not possible so i just have to use selective blindness ?

Re: MSc survey on 'shared travel'

Q 6. How many miles/kilometers per day do you drive? No option for 0 , so i clicked under 20 miles. I feel you missed out a lot of people who dont drive at all there.

see also Questions 12, 13

I guess by movement logging you want to sell that info?

Re: UK Parts Manufacturers??

If you are going to include ICE, Mick Burrows, Moulton etc because they make small parts for their niche products then you should include Longstaff and Trykit who make parts for their tricycles. I suspect this thread is aimed at non niche products which you can walk into a shop and buy. Don't forge...

Re: Rotating mass, the math and the myth...

Hi, Just to add a bit of complexity (you know you love it) I feel that the rotating mass of heavy footwear makes me tired on long rides. Heavy footwear can be hundreds of grams heavier than light footwear, and having to keep it rotating as you ride is a bit sapping. Or so it seems to me. The same i...

And how do we get a trade deal we want with China when in the EU? They can't get deals done, and even if they do it is not UK negotiating it, it is the Commission. How is that better? It's a composting toilet -> my stupid phone. My friend is recently back from living in China, he was working with t...

Re: How long before you got up to speed?

I swap between recumbent trikes, drop bars and mtbs. I try to ride them in some kind of rotation to keep up to speed / slowness on them all. Also if i ride my trikes too much I lose the toughness on my sit bones with the harder saddles on my tourer and audax df's become uncomfortable.
